Chapter 302 - Chapter 302: Battle with the Raiden Shogun Again

Chapter 302: Battle with the Raiden Shogun Again

During the quantum transmission, he could already sense what was happening around Yae Miko.

But compared to the misty scene he had imagined… something over there felt off.

It wasn't that the environment was wrong—judging from the tatami beneath her, she was indeed inside Tenshukaku.

But what was that familiar-sounding voice?

His quantum-blurred body began to solidify. When Bai Luo finally saw the two people in front of him, his expression changed instantly.

Bai Luo: =͟͟͞͞(꒪⌓꒪*)

Yae Miko: ๑乛◡乛๑

Raiden Ei: (눈_눈)

As Bai Luo's hand rested on Yae Miko's shoulder, Raiden Ei—who noticed the quantum-transmission effect—immediately understood who he was.

She didn't shout, didn't threaten him, didn't even speak. Instead, she directly grabbed the Engulfing Lightning placed beside her and swung it at Bai Luo.

A true warrior needs no words.

The crystalline armor on his arm vanished, replaced by two oddly shaped daggers.

Bai Luo raised the daggers high—slotting the blade of the naginata neatly into the gap between them.

While Bai Luo held her weapon back with one hand, Raiden Ei clenched her free left hand. Lightning gathered in her palm.

Bai Luo took the opportunity to pull back his left-hand dagger and threw it toward her.

Boom—!

A deep thunderclap echoed through the hall, even making Yae Miko—who had been watching the show—cover her ears.

When the lightning faded, Bai Luo and Raiden Ei had already separated and stood facing each other on opposite sides of the hall.

Feeling the numbness of the electro shock, Bai Luo took a deep breath and raised his guard again.

As for Raiden Ei, she lifted her hand and looked at her palm, full of confusion.

She… was just paralyzed?

She hadn't dodged the incoming dagger at all—she had tanked it head-on.

She could tell that the dagger thrown hastily had almost no force behind it.

But Bai Luo had been rather lucky lately, and the strike somehow triggered a critical hit.

The system's Electric Shock effect successfully paralyzed the Raiden Shogun and drained all her strength—otherwise, Bai Luo wouldn't have gotten away so easily.

"So it is you—the Battousai."

After Duel Before the Throne, to show respect for that unknown young man, she had personally taken control of the Shogun's body to grant him a dignified end.

It was then that she encountered a mysterious wanderer.

That wanderer had used an elemental technique similar to the one Bai Luo just used—and a strange sealing art.

Even she couldn't break free from it.

The sensation of being restrained back then felt very much like the paralysis she experienced just now.

"Oh my~?"

Watching the scene unfold, Yae Miko suddenly understood why her dear friend had thrown lightning earlier.

This was a very juicy revelation.

"Let's talk this out. I entered by accident. Can you just let me leave?"

Could Bai Luo defeat the Raiden Shogun?

Honestly—if it were only a friendly spar, and he went all-out… he might actually have a chance.

But in a real life-or-death fight… he doubted the current him could win.

"Hmph!"

The Eye of Stormy Judgment manifested.

Raiden Shogun knew this man had many tricks, so to capture him completely, she gave him no chance to activate any skills at all.

Her lightning-wrapped naginata danced in a dense, airtight pattern that made Bai Luo's scalp tingle.

What made things worse was that the lightning extended the range of her slashes, making it easy to misjudge dodging distance.

As mentioned before—if Bai Luo used quantum teleportation, his quantum state would enter a cooldown afterward.

The cooldown time was equal to the distance of the quantum teleportation—and Bai Luo had teleported from the very edge of its maximum range.

That meant the quantum cooldown had shot straight up to ten whole minutes.

Normally… ten minutes wasn't much.

But surviving ten minutes under the Raiden Shogun's attacks—without the help of quantumization—was another matter entirely.

Using his wires, Bai Luo narrowly evaded the Shogun's naginata.

Landing steadily, he didn't rush to counterattack. Instead, he activated Shadow Step.

A pale-blue glow enveloped him, and in an instant, all of his presence vanished completely.

"He ran?"

Yae Miko glanced around, but found no sign of Bai Luo.

Not only did she make no effort to help her dear friend locate him, she leisurely crouched down in the corner.

Because she already guessed what Ei was planning.

"Raikō Sendō!"

The naginata spun in Raiden Ei's hands, and in an instant, Electro energy filled the entire room.

Boom—!

Blinding lightning surged throughout Tenshukaku.

Every corner was ravaged by lightning—except for the place where Yae Miko stood.

Even before the lightning fully dispersed, Raiden Ei flashed before Yae Miko like a thunderbolt—and slashed at her.

Boom—!

Yae Miko was unharmed.

Instead, another figure was sent flying, blasted through the lightning curtain, crashing through a wooden wall and tumbling into the neighboring room.

One had to admit—Ei might not be the strongest ruler in statecraft.

But her combat instincts were top-tier.

The moment Bai Luo hid his presence, she had already planned the entire sequence of attacks.

Even the terrifying barrage of lightning was merely bait to force Bai Luo out—and the true killing strike had been that last slash.

Seeing that Bai Luo made no movement after flying into the next room, Raiden Ei held her naginata and calmly walked toward him.

"Fufufu~~"

A strange sound echoed.

That unsettling feeling of being watched returned—and this time, it was so intense that even a god felt threatened.

Clang, clang, clang…

A woman's soft laughter sounded, accompanied by an urgent alert echoing through the entire Tenshukaku.

Crash—!

The debris of the shattered wall exploded outward as Bai Luo kicked it aside.

Light shimmered beneath his feet, and he sprang upward like he'd been fitted with powerful springs.

This was one of the Voids he had acquired—the Dancer's Shoes.

They enhanced his jumping and movement speed, while also boosting the damage of his flying kicks.

Raiden Ei could tell that the ominous sensation definitely had something to do with Bai Luo.

Weighing the risks, she immediately swung her blade at him.

Because a Bai Luo suspended in the air would never be able to dodge her slash.

If she could strike him down, the strange phenomena he brought with him should disappear as well.

But there was one thing she didn't know—

Bai Luo's Dancer's Shoes had an air-stall ability.

Clang!

Seeing the lightning slash coming, Bai Luo flipped in midair.

In the once-empty space, a pale-blue light-wall materialized.

Using the rebound of the light-wall, Bai Luo launched a flying kick straight toward Raiden Ei's chest.

But the cushioning effect of her breast was far stronger than he expected—the moment he connected, he felt an odd bouncing force.

Fortunately, the kick was only meant to draw her attention—because the real finishing blow… had just arrived.

WOOO—!

A ferocious steel beast roared out of the room—a speeding train tore forward and slammed directly into Raiden Ei.

Carrying her with unstoppable momentum, the train shot straight through Tenshukaku, racing through the air for nearly a kilometer before vanishing without a trace.
