Chapter 34 - HAPPY EX BOYFRIEND

When Marlon bragged about how best he can handle Nadia Browne's juicy portal, Sonia's efforts were out of the window.

As soft as her character was, Marlon's words felt like a poop from a flying pigeon overhead dropping on her forehead in the presence of a blind date at the first night out.

Too embarrassed to even open her mouth to speak again, Sonia turned around and found her way out of Marlon's sight, so hurting.

Marlon, a remorseless killer of joy, sentenced Sonia to a sad afternoon. He snickered at her puzzled look as she turned around to leave in total despair. A thick-skin smile which made him look like he never cared did not linger for long on his face.

Though Marlon was extremely careless lover who took advantage of the fact that Nadia Browne cherished him to the bone and could bring the moon down for him if that's what his heart desired during the period she was all on him under his umbrella, deep inside he loved her dearly.

At the back of his mind as Sonia walked, "her beauty was something so unique every time she smile. On top of that, all my life I've never been showered heavy rains of love like she did to me. It's funny, all the ladies I wasted my time on out there were not as beautiful as her, and at the same time they didn't love me the same way she did. Sonia, I can't be the same fool who became overly confident and took your best friend for granted."

Not until Sonia went out of his sight, his eyes stuck on her back side. Marlon was regretting deeply for loosing Nadia Browne.

Absent minded, Nadia Browne, on bed sitting so relaxed, all drowned in opening gifts which were brought to her by well wishers to wish her a quick recovery, suddenly Sonia pushed and bumped inside the patient room.

"Don't say you didn't, I know you did it!" In a quick and very serious confrontation, Sonia attacked Nadia Browne.

Her mind had teemed with a hundred hurts and angers and you could hear it in her voice.

"Did what?" The sudden approach startled Nadia Browne, getting her confused.

"You and your ex boyfriend Marlon at the club that night! Don't you deny that your pants did not slide off you legs for him _ I know how only a snap of his finger can makes you loose your senses!" Said Sonia, but her rage rarely lasted more than a few minutes.

She sighed.

The bed on which Nadia was seated felt like a hot pan at the moment, and her eyes which were lifted with a bold strike dropped in guilt. Her facial expression was a surprising clarity.

When Sonia noticed Nadia's guilty reaction, she didn't need to ask any further. She spoke with an expression of disappointment.

"You're a married woman for heavens sake Nadia!"

....

"How did you get to know this?" Out of worry, Nadia Browne inquired.

"Does it even matter?" Sonia carelessly uttered.

Nadia Browne had no room for an excuse as she always had.

"Am sorry...." For the first time in their entire friendship, Nadia Browne apologized for her mistake.

Outside the patient room, Marlon, Nadia's ex boyfriend approached. As he was about to push the slightly open door and enter inside, he overheard Nadia Browne apologizing, which was intriguing. He stopped a little bit by the door to listen for a little while.

Neither Sonia nor Nadia Browne sensed the presence of any motion at the entrance. Their conversation continued.

"You think a sorry is going to save you from this mess?! Seeing Marlon showing up here with a bunch of your favorite flowers was a shock to me _ a joke I last expected!" Stated Sonia.

"Are you serious about this?" Nadia raised her face and set a concerned eye on Sonia.

"No, am not!" Sonia replied with an attitude. "Do you think this is a matter to start jokes about?"

Nadia Browne shrunk more in worries on bed where she was sitting.

Sonia couldn't wait to remind her, "before you love bombed Bob Lee to blind fold him out of his marriage with your naked weapon, I knew this day was to come and warned you but you did not consider my advise."

"You can't blame me for that, I was in love!"

"Cut the crap Nadia! You and I know Bob Lee was just a rebound when Marlon abandoned you...! And the day you announced you were planning to wed with him, my words were not at all in support of it if you can remember!"

"..." Nadia was speechless.

"I knew how much you love Marlon however careless he keeped treating you!"

"I don't love Marlon anymore," defensively, Nadia replied.

"And now that you had sex with him, damn!" Sonia's facial expression was just enough to tell how overwhelmed she was.

"I was all drunk, out of my senses that night," she got an excuse.

"Drunk! What do you mean drunk? Are you going to tell your husband that you got drunk and opened your legs for your ex to enjoy?"

"Of course no...!" With no way to escape the fix, Nadia Browne accepted the defeat, "you are my best friend, instead of crucifying me, just help me out!"

Sonia sighed in disbelief. Exhaustedly, she dropped and sat down on the edge of the bed facing away to show her how the tendency of not listening to her advise displeased her.

"How I wish you could take a single advise of mine... All you've always done is to argue me out, and choose what pleases you."

"Something I need to tell you," Nadia Browne humbled herself.

Wondering what it was, Sonia turned with an inquisitive face, questioning what else Naida had to say after the unthinkable which was already on table.

"Am two weeks pregnant _ the doctor just told me and my husband."

"What?" Sonia exclaimed unbelievably.

Outside the patient room, "hey, are you lost or something?" Bob Lee and friends showed up behind Marlon as he was busy sneaking his ears inside, picking the conversation.

Marlon turned around and on Bob Lee he set his eyes. Immediately, "um, I think am at the wrong room," he got away to escape with his bunch of red rose flowers in hand.

With wondering faces, all the five watched an unknown man walking away like crazy, but then ignored and continued to get in.

Inside, Sonia and Nadia Browne sensed the presence of motion at the entrance. They had to cut their conversation immediately. Plastic smiles displayed on their faces, pretending to be happy as Bob Lee and friends walked in.

Unfortunately, what Sonia and Nadia didn't know was; every bit of their private talk fell into Marlon's ears, something troublesome.

As soon as Marlon entered his Range Rover, before he ignited to drive away, "thanks to myself for doing the job right that night at the club. Nadia, now we're soon becoming good parents to our child," the bright smile on his cheeks spoke extreme happiness he felt.

He ignited.
