Dong Jinseng felt Ning Xixi's rejection; his mood plummeted, and he hung his head, listless.
Ji Yebai's phone screen lit up again, a sneer flitting across his eyes as he pressed to answer the call.
"Yebai, I don't mind how you treat me, but you can't just ignore Jinsheng. Have you forgotten that he did it all for you..."
"Dong Yingluo." The deep and cool voice carried a chill, "You'd better not play any tricks on me!"
At the other end of the phone, Dong Yingluo's heartbeat inexplicably quickened, yet she still managed to feign a soft and feeble tone, "What are you talking about? In my heart, my brother is the most important. How could I bear to use him as a pawn to play tricks on you?"
Ji Yebai gripped the phone tighter.
He no longer knew which of Dong Yingluo's words he could believe, or if, perhaps, they were all lies?
"Dong Jinseng is with me," Ji Yebai stated succinctly, "I'll have someone send him back."
