"Go play over there, kid, this isn't a place for children," a police officer said as Luo Qianqian approached the area. Because of the damaged walls and the danger of falling glass, protective tapes had been set up both inside and outside.
Luo Qianqian nodded awkwardly, her view obstructed by a sea of people at the door and isolation tape across the windows. How was she supposed to see inside?
"It's really tragic. I heard there's a child who was sitting right in his seat. Now his life hangs in the balance," said a freshly minted father on the police force, shedding two tears, "I heard he was a very smart kid."
"He's probably dead, right? Look at this car, completely crushing the seat. If that kid was trapped underneath the car, I'm afraid..."
