Dinner time, the whole family was gathered together: Xu Qinghe and his wife, Xu Nianji's family of three, and siblings Xu Nian'an and Xu Nianhua. Seven people in total, sitting around the small round table—it was just right, not crowded, not too loose.
Every time Xu Qinghe saw this scene, he felt especially happy. The whole family reunited, hot steaming dishes on the round table, everyone's smiling faces—he felt these days were full of hope.
"Dad, want some wine?" Xu Nianji drove every day, busy from morning till night. When he got home in the evening, he liked to have a little drink—not enough to get drunk, but just to take the edge off the fatigue.
No need to drive tomorrow, so tonight, Xu Nianji decided, he could drink a bit more.
"Bring it on."
Looking at the plentiful dishes on the table, Xu Qinghe said, "Nianhua made so many delicious dishes—how could we not have a little wine?"
