Zhuangzhuang was startled yesterday and isn't feeling well, so Ji Ying stayed home to help out. She wasn't surprised to see Fang Yue come by.
She's a mother too; if her own child were out there somewhere, she'd worry. Children are like flesh fallen from your own body—how could you not think about them?
According to Fang Yue's introduction, Gu Mingcheng is Xu Nianhua's biological younger brother. Gu Mingcheng's gaze is clear and innocent, which made Fang Yue quite fond of him. She kept offering Gu Mingcheng her homemade snacks.
There were sweet and tangy dried bayberry, dried bamboo shoots, and her own pickled ginger in vinegar.
"Delicious." Gu Mingcheng was very appreciative, trying each one and complimenting them sincerely.
Fang Yue watched Gu Mingcheng deliberately try to please Ji Ying, and felt uneasy. As his mother, she knew what kind of temperament her own son had. Because she favored Gu Mingzhu, Gu Mingcheng never felt especially close to her.
