There were a lot of people selling chili peppers. The factory had been buying chili peppers for a month already, so folks from all the villages nearby knew that the county had opened a Good Mom Food Factory that was buying chili peppers. The prices were fair and honest, and the factory would buy however many peppers people had.
Uncle Jiang's job every day was to watch the gate and weigh these chili peppers. After weighing, he handed out the money Ji Ying left for him to pay the villagers selling their peppers.
That day, the peppers at the factory entrance were all sold out. Uncle Jiang looked outside the gates and saw a woman standing there, so he took the initiative to ask, "Are you here to sell chili peppers?"
He looked at the bag in her hand. It seemed to be full of chili peppers.
"Yes."
The woman quickly nodded and handed over the three pounds of dried chili peppers she had brought, saying, "These are my own peppers, and they're especially clean."
"Alright."
