"Who is it?"
The door opened, and a woman in her fifties stood at the entrance, sizing up Bai Xiao. With a glance at her attire and the apron she wore, Bai Xiao guessed she was the housekeeper of Bai Jingshan's family.
"Who are you looking for?"
The housekeeper cautiously examined Bai Xiao up and down.
You could tell she was experienced.
"I'm here to bring porridge to Mr. Bai. I heard he's ill. I'll leave this with you; I won't disturb you any longer."
Bai Xiao shoved the thermos into the housekeeper's arms and was about to leave.
But unexpectedly, the housekeeper quickly grabbed her.
"Hey! Don't leave. Since you're here to deliver porridge, you must know Mr. Bai. You should at least leave your name, and I need to ask Mr. Bai. I can't just accept anything from anyone." The housekeeper dared not accept things casually. Though she was just a housekeeper, she had seen many trying to curry favor with Bai Jingshan.
