After leaving the restaurant, Xia Lu and Jin Meng each held a drink in their hands that they hadn't finished.
"Do you think she won't blame you for what happened today?" Xia Lu suddenly asked with some concern. Since Karen had used Jin Meng to call her out, it indicated that Karen wasn't strictly separating business from personal matters. Xia Lu wouldn't stand idly by if her attitude caused Jin Meng to face workplace discrimination.
"I don't think so," Jin Meng pondered, "But what exactly happened between you two earlier? From what you both said, it seemed quite serious. It's the first time I've seen her so angry."
"It's not a big deal," Xia Lu replied ambiguously, "It's better you don't know."
