Zhou Xinyao was happily chatting with Li Zhao, frequently laughing so hard she shook, when she caught sight of someone approaching out of the corner of her eye. Upon realizing it was Karen, her expression changed instantly.
"What a coincidence, is this the only event in the entire city today, that you're here too?" Karen's words were harsh from the start, causing Zhou Xinyao to roll her eyes.
Please, I was here first. Why the fuss? But she merely muttered this to herself, since others were present, and snapping back immediately would seem petty. Thinking about it, perhaps Li Zhao was right—she really was wearing a mask, too afraid even to speak her mind.
At that moment, Karen saw Li Zhao and immediately smiled, "You're here too? That's such a coincidence."
