Zhou Jingxian stepped out of the hospital with a grave expression. He had been given the cold shoulder, and his only way out seemed to have evaporated. Zhang Jiunian pressed him relentlessly, but he was powerless against him, a situation that was genuinely frustrating.
"Go check on the status of his family."
The assistant looked helpless. "Mr. Zhou, it's common knowledge that Mr. Zhang's family immigrated overseas years ago. What exactly do you want me to find out?"
That's right, Zhou Jingxian then remembered. Zhang Jiunian, on the pretext of sending his children abroad for studies and having his wife accompany them as a guardian, had moved his family out early. Zhou had not only helped in-between but had even reached out to his younger sister who had already moved overseas, asking her to help them when necessary. It seemed now that Zhang Jiunian had anticipated a fallout one day and had prepared in advance.
"Oh!" he sighed to himself, feeling useless.
