"Miss, your meal is ready," the server announced.
Zhou Xinyao lowered her head, forked a meatball, and chewed it slowly. The taste was mediocre, but tolerable. She glanced out of the corner of her eye at the man by the window and noticed him putting down his cup, standing up, and gesturing to the waiter to get the bill.
There were no big companies around, nor were there any upscale residential areas or busy commercial districts, so it was puzzling why such a person would appear here.
The man paid his bill and quickly left the restaurant.
Zhou Xinyao finished her meal and decided to rest for a while before heading back. She knew it was going to be a tough job and regretted accepting it. It was only half a day, and she was already regretting her decision, beginning to resent Zhang Jiunian for assigning her such a difficult task.
