When Zhou Mingchen entered the door, he was covered in sweat. The weather was still not cool, and his rush and anger had left him panting even as he stepped inside.
The first thing he did when he got home was not to confront Xia Lu; instead, he called Qiu Cheng. "My car was towed away. Can you get in touch and have it delivered to me as soon as possible?"
After putting his phone aside, he walked toward Xia Lu, who had finished her meal and was now sitting on the sofa eating fruit.
"Did you take the bus back?"
Xia Lu immediately nodded, "Yeah."
"Was it crowded?"
"Very crowded." She hadn't taken the bus and didn't know how crowded it had actually been; she could only guess. On workdays, during commuting hours, it was undoubtedly packed to the brim.
"Next time, if I'm not there yet, don't leave. Wait for me, understand?" Zhou Mingchen said sternly. "Even if not for your own sake, think about our child."
