Chapter 138 - Chapter 138 Interrupted.

While Paul was thinking about the reincarnation soul's proposition, someone knocked on his door.

-Master, are you busy?

-You can come in, Yin, and I told you to stop calling me master.

Wu Yin entered his room dressed in a bathrobe and blushing like a schoolgirl, about to confess her feelings to her crush.

Seeing her like that, Paul immediately knew why she had come.

-Sorry, I can't get used to calling you by name.

She apologized.

-You'll get used to it eventually.

Paul smiled, approaching and hugging her.

Feeling his arms around her, Wu Yin relaxed a bit.

It was her first time, and she was quite nervous.

She wanted to say something, but didn't get the chance.

Paul's lips covered hers in a passionate kiss.

Before she knew it, the bathrobe fell to the ground, uncovering the sexy black lingerie she was wearing beneath it.

Seeing her in it, Paul had to admit that it was a perfect match for her beauty, and any man who saw her in it would most likely go mad, but this was a sight reserved solely for him and no one else.

He scooped her up and carried her to bed before gently putting her down and getting on top of her.

Unfortunately, before they could progress any further, there was another knock on the door.

-Paul, I hope I'm not interrupting, but a guard from the province lord's mansion just arrived.

You're uncle is summoning you, and it's urgent.

Anna's voice came from behind the door.

-Damn it.

He said quietly.

-Tell him I'll be right there.

He said, not in the least happy that they were interrupted just as things started to heat up.

-I'm sorry, Yin.

We will continue when I get back.

He apologized before leaving the bed and dressing back up.

-Don't worry, I waited this long, I can wait for a bit more.

She smiled and kissed him before he left.

Paul recognized the guard immediately when he saw him.

-What's going on?

He asked.

-Young master, the province lord sent me to bring you back to his mansion as soon as possible.

I was not given any details, but the lord said it is urgent.

The guard said with a slight bow.

-Let's go.

Paul said.

At this point, he knew Xiao Han well enough to know that he would not send for him if it was not important.

The whole way there, Paul was wondering what was so important that his uncle would send a guard for him.

-Uncle, you sent for me.

Paul said, the moment he entered the main room in the mansion, where a few people he recognized from the banquet were waiting, along with Xiao Han and Liu Lili.

-It's good that you arrived so fast.

You know that Madam Yang was attacked after the auction, right?

Paul nodded.

-The thing is that she had just woken up from her coma, and she can't feel her body from her neck down.

The healers the Yang family hired think it has something to do with her spine, but they are unsure, and they don't want to make things worse by moving her.

-I understand, uncle.

Where is the patient?

Paul asked.

He connected the dots and guessed that his uncle wanted him to use the diagnosis technique on Madam Yang.

-My mother is in our mansion, but can you diagnose her without moving her body?

A young woman asked, with doubt in her voice.

-I can.

Paul confirmed.

-I would not call him here if I were not certain that he can do it.

Especially since he was planning to enter seclusion tonight.

Xiao Han added, emphasizing that Paul had better things to do than to play around.

-I apologize if I offended you, it's just…

-It's just that I'm young and my cultivation level is not that high either, so I'm not looking like I'm capable of helping.

Paul finished for her with a smile.

-I…

The woman started but stopped seeing his raised hand.

-I was not offended, and I also understand your lack of confidence in my abilities.

But, Like Uncle said, he would not summon me here for nothing.

-So, if you don't mind, I would like to see the patient as soon as possible.

Or if you doubt my abilities or have an alternative solution, then I can go back to preparing for my breakthrough.

Paul spoke with a tone of voice suggesting that he didn't want to waste time.

-Alright, I'll bring you to see my mother.

The young woman sighed.

She still had her doubts, but Liu Lili and her mother had been friends since they were children.

Taking that into consideration, she was certain that this young man had some abilities, or the province lord and his wife would not recommend him.

-Make haste, and send word what's going on as soon as possible.

Liu Lili said as they were leaving.

Paul nodded and left with the young woman and her guards.

The distance between the mansions was not great, so they arrived within a few minutes, only to be greeted by a middle-aged-looking man, whom Paul guessed was the patriarch of the Yang family.

-Is this the healer the province lord recommended?

The man asked without any form of greeting.

He looked Paul up and down with doubt.

-Yes, father, he is.

The province lord could not guarantee that he would be able to heal his mother, but at the very least, he should have the ability to diagnose her injuries without moving her.

The young woman explained.

-Very well, young man, see what you can do for my wife.

The man said, looking at Paul with a bit less suspicion, but his gaze was still doubtful.

Paul nodded and followed the young woman into a luxuriously furnished bedroom.

On the bed lay a beautiful, mature woman.

Even the bruises present on her face could not hide the fact that she was a true beauty.

-Please excuse me.

Paul said, approaching the bed and placing his finger on the woman's forehead.

His mana went through her body, revealing the staggering amount of damage that was done to her.

-Damn that hunter, he didn't hold back one bit.

The damage he uncovered would be lethal if not for this woman's high cultivation stage.

It was evident that the Dragon hunter intended to kill her, but something went wrong, or the hunter made a mistake.

No matter what it was, this woman was extremely lucky to even be alive.

Even so, her injuries were serious and healing her fully would take a lot of time, if it was even possible at all..

Then Paul saw the damage she suffered to her neck, and he went pale.

The woman's neck was snapped and held in place only by her Qi, which was getting weaker by the moment.

-I need to talk with the patriarch immediately.

The young man said with a grim and serious tone.

It was not even a minute before the man barged in.

-Did it work? Can she be healed?

He asked frantically.

-I'll be honest with you.

Paul said, his voice grim.

-It's already a miracle she is even alive right now.

Her neck was snapped, and the only thing keeping it together is her Qi.

Additionally, her spinal cord is almost completely severed, with only a small strand still connected, which is most likely the reason she is alive.

And that's on top of her other injuries, which are serious to say the least.

-Is there any hope at all to save my mother?

The young woman asked with tears in her eyes.

-Truth be told, her chances are slim to none. If I had to give an estimate, then her chances of surviving are less than 0.01%, and that's the most optimistic estimate I can give you, while her chances of full recovery are even lower than that.

Paul said, honestly.

If he were stronger than the chances would be greater, but as he was, it would be a miracle if he managed to save her, much less heal her fully.
