Chapter 163
Aaliyah
Out in the hallway, several feet in front of Tristan, I stopped when she called me.
"Do you think he's telling the truth?" she asked.
"I don't know," I said. "You were there when I questioned him, and he denied everything. I don't know if he's telling the truth."
"I really hope he is," Hayley said, rubbing her hand over her temples. "Because I don't want to think about what Aiden would do to him if he finds out otherwise."
"I have questions," I said. "Like, who was behind the attack that night?"
I turned to her. "Vampires rarely attack my people. I haven't seen them do so since I was born."
"Someone must have been behind the murder," she said. "Did your father have any enemies?"
"Enemies?"
"Rivals from other packs?" she asked.
"My father always tried to make the pack peaceful for everyone," I said. "We might have been rivals to another pack, but the fight wasn't caused by my father. Probably from my grandfather or great grandfather."
