"Mages, charge up the cannons! They're better than your spells…" the captain ordered as the pirate ships drew closer.
A faint blue mana shield had already spread around the ship, while a red signal spell shot into the sky to alert the other vessel—the one carrying Brigid and the rest of the cultists.
Lumine had already climbed down from the masthead, while Cassian jumped down halfway, crouching as he tried to estimate how many people were aboard the pirate ship. It wasn''t exactly small by normal standards, but compared to the ship they were on, it looked much smaller.
But there was a lot of activity, and just like their own ship, the pirate vessel was also covered in a mana shield. As Cassian kept observing, his eyes landed on a man who seemed to be the captain, standing on the main deck of the black-sailed ship.
Even though it belonged to pirates, surprisingly, the ship had a certain charm compared to the ones they were on.
"It's beautiful…" Cassian muttered.
