THE DAY BEFORE THE GALA

When Ambrose told Odette about the rogues and the interrogation, he may have left out exactly how brutal his extraction method was.
"Seriously, Ambrose. Do you think they'll make a move at the Gala?"
"I don't think they'd be stupid enough to move here, but there will be other territories that are going to be left less guarded with their alphas away. I'm trying to come up with a solution to protect them from attacks while they're vulnerable."
"I could ask my father to help." Odette offered.
"That won't be necessary. Vampires guarding shifters from other shifters. That sounds like insanity." Ambrose laughed.
