Sat alone watching the monitor my mind is now blank, reminding me of the days I started painting. Watching Will take the antidote and the sounds he made, the screaming and shouting. It hurt me, it made me feel sorrow for him. All I wanted to do was go down there and hug him, help him through it but two things restrained me. One is simply that I wouldn't be let into the room as there is a high chance Will wouldn't recognise me so Dr Goult and Mr Collins wouldn't let me in. The second is that I don't know if I would have gone through with it. Thinking about it more and more there's a lot of things that don't add up about the situation. Starting at the cabin with Noah, and him disappearing at Transmission Prime, then returning as Will. Not having much alone time to think I've never really had the time to try figure it all out. The monitor hums as Will sits up clawing at his throat, seeing this I begin to make over to the window overlooking the valley. I will go down soon I tell myself, it pains me to see him like this. But just not right now. Looking as the trees sway in the wind, and the birds flying round its such a peaceful life, its how I would want to live mine. In a cabin someone, surrounded by nature, doing what I want whilst not being constrained by others. My eyes follow a set of birds flying through the trees over the road with trucks on perching on a branch nearby. Wait, what? Eyes darting back I take in the view, trucks, a lot of trucks. Trying to identify them I look for an insignia as my heart hastens and my breath halters. Seeing one, I run back to the elevator.
Everyone but Rose is back in the room as Will is recovering sat up now but in much pain. "What did you feel like?" Dr Goult questions. "I felt dissociated, I don't know why though" he replied looking up making eye contact as they both understand what he means. "Checking through the data the antidote did work, very surprising for it to do that first try, we will implement it in all of the gas systems and some gas grenades now, did you all hear that, get a move on!" Dr Goult exclaims. Walking over to Will he whispers out of ear shot of everyone else "We will talk later about what you actually saw" he barely finished as the door burst open. "The government is coming, they will be here any moment now, we need to leave this instance!" Rose bellows echoing throughout the room. "Mr Collins you stay behind with your men, you have been in the facility long enough to know your way around, I will stay as well to help. You two, leave now, take a car from the garage." Dr Goult orders as he begins to move out the room making eye contact with Rose seemingly saying do it now. Rose rushes to Will avoiding his eyes and grabs him by the arm dragging him out of the room to the garage as the sound of shouts and people runnings echoes throughout the halls. A few minutes until the car she tells herself hoping nothing happens in that time. Reaching the garage she gets in the car as Will jumps in beside her. The car turns on as they begin driving out and away. Speeding through the open door they have to take a route through the trees so the government trucks don't follow them as they would be seen on the road.
"Are you okay?" I hear Will ask, my foot on the pedal, my body tensed, constantly looking out the back mirror. "Im fine" I reply making sure we avoid all the trees. "Where are we going?" Will questions as we finally reach the road again as I let out a sigh of relief. "I am not to sure to be honest, I have an idea." I finish as the car goes into a uncomfortable silence.
"Follow those car tracks".
