Chapter 286: First Release
Two days later, Otto's professional equipment arrived.
'Fu Hua' underwent a full examination of both Honkai energy and her consciousness structure.
The results? Extremely healthy. No risk of sudden spontaneous death.
So, Book of Fuxi lifted the house arrest.
She hadn't been lying to 'Fu Hua'—the main reason for the confinement really was out of concern. With the chaos in her body, if something went wrong, it could've ended in instant death.
Anyway, the moment she got permission, 'Fu Hua' practically zoomed to the door with a "whoosh," lifting her little feet to kick it open—
STARE——
Book of Fuxi's death-glare landed right on her back as expected.
Sensing the intense gaze, 'Fu Hua' quietly lowered her foot, reached out to gently open the door, sidestepped out, and then just as gently closed it behind her.
One second later, from beyond the door came the ecstatic cry of a liberated husky:
"Woooohooo! Yesss!!"
Inside the room, Book of Fuxi let out a long sigh, completely worn out.
This was not the situation she'd ever imagined. She was just supposed to be the Immortal's little housekeeper—now all of a sudden there was a second Fu Hua, like a hyperactive kid.
What even was she supposed to do with this?
"Still, what's more important now is—hey, I can feel it, this device Otto sent has Soulium in it, doesn't it?"
"If we sell it to that kid Sigurd, it should be enough to cover all the damage costs from the past few days, right?"
Book of Fuxi stared at the white machine Otto had delivered, eyes practically flashing with currency symbols and Arabic numerals.
Sure, it might still be useful in the future—but Otto was a rich sucker anyway. If they needed another one, they could just scam him again!
"Yeah, that's the plan! Heh heh heh…"
She patted the "massive" machine and, hands behind her back, let out a sneaky little laugh.
. . . . . . . .
"Where are you planning to go?"
"Anywhere! I just want to walk around, see who I bump into!"
Answering the old-fashioned voice in her head, 'Fu Hua' bounced down the hallway. The tassels of her traditional outfit danced playfully near her shapely thighs. Her face radiated pure, childlike joy.
"Try not to destroy anything. Book of Fuxi will be upset. And this is Sigurd and the others' home, after all."
"Huh?"
She paused mid-jump, annoyance flashing across her face. She scratched her head hard.
"Ughhh, you're so annoying, Old Timer! I know what to do! I'm not a kid anymore!"
"As long as you understand."
"By the way, haven't you seen enough yet? How about giving me the rest of the memories already? Just dragging this out is boring."
"Give it a little more time. I'm still not sure."
'Fu Hua' puffed up her cheeks and gave a grumpy "hmph."
But whatever. She, the great Fu Hua, had always been magnanimous. Especially toward her past self. She could tolerate that slow-brained stick-in-the-mud just a bit longer.
She mentally gave herself a thumbs-up for her patience, then raised her head high and continued skipping down the hall.
And then, at the next corner, a small girl with pink hair crashed right into her.
"Hm?"
Because of the massive difference in strength, 'Fu Hua' didn't budge an inch. The girl, on the other hand, was about to fall flat on her butt.
With practiced ease, 'Fu Hua' scooped her up mid-fall, spinning slightly to absorb the impact. One hand on her waist, the other holding her hand—they struck a pose straight out of a ballroom dance finale.
Her lips curled into a faint, dangerous smile—charming and full of mischief.
"Whoa there~ No running in the hallways, cutie!"
"Te– Teacher Fu Hua!?"
Rozaliya looked up at the smirking figure and felt her heart race. Her face flushed bright red, all the way to her ears.
"Idiot sis. I knew something dumb would happen."
Her twin sister, Liliya, strolled over with a deadpan voice, throwing cold water on the mood and snapping Rozaliya out of the spell of that strange charm.
"It was an accident! An accident! Who knew Teacher Fu Hua would suddenly show up?!"
Rozaliya stood up straight, immediately trying to defend herself to Liliya.
Liliya shook her head and didn't say anything—because saying it would've been pointless. Nothing ever stayed in Rozaliya's head for more than seven seconds unless it was food or the lyrics for their next performance.
'Fu Hua' looked at the two sisters with a cheerful grin. She reached out and ruffled their hair, asking brightly:
"Where are you two off to?"
"Reporting to Teacher Fu Hua, it's time for our daily vocal training." Liliya answered seriously.
'Fu Hua' rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
"Singing, huh? Now that I think about it, despite being the all-powerful me, I've never really studied that skill. Alright, it's decided! Let's do it together—teach me everything you know about singing!"
Rozaliya and Liliya both looked at 'Fu Hua' blankly, their eyes settling on her smug, confident smile.
Meanwhile, in the mental realm, the original Fu Hua paused mid-sip of tea.
[What are you thinking? Why do you want to learn to sing?]
[Isn't it obvious? It's useful! I've already mastered martial arts to the peak of perfection and become unrivaled in combat. Naturally, it's time to fix my weaknesses in other areas. Think about it—singing comes up all the time at parties and celebrations. What if I run into one of those events and someone outshines me? That'd be a huge embarrassment to me, the great Fu Hua!]
[…You're ridiculous.]
[Mind your own business! You're just an Old Timer, so stay inside quietly. Watch all you like, but don't butt in on my actions as the main body. Learn to understand priorities, you idiot!]
Fu Hua shook her head.
She couldn't talk sense into her, but it wasn't exactly a bad thing either. So, she went back to sipping her tea, choosing to leave her to it.
Back in the real world, 'Fu Hua' tossed the inner voice from her mind and grabbed the girls by the hand, pulling them along.
"I remember your practice room's this way. Come on, hurry up!"
With that, the three of them zoomed off and quickly arrived at their destination.
Thanks to 'Fu Hua's' infectious energy, the sisters soon got into the spirit of being teachers, eagerly sharing all their vocal training knowledge.
Half a day later, feeling like she'd made great progress, 'Fu Hua' finally left the practice room—definitely not because she got bored or ran out of patience, okay?
"Oh, right! About the question you two asked me last time—how to marry Sigurd—I'm working on it. I'll get you a solid plan soon. Trust me, I'm all-powerful!"
With a confident farewell, 'Fu Hua' disappeared through the door.
The two sisters left behind looked at each other.
"Do you think we can count on her, Liliya?"
"Idiot sis, Teacher Fu Hua's a 50,000-year-old virgin. What exactly are you expecting?"
"Ugh! True, we can't rely on her. So now what? At this rate, when will we finally live a debt-free life, with all the allowance we want, and all the food, fun, and spending we could dream of?"
"Liliya thinks… maybe we should ask Bronya! She's super smart, reads a ton of books, and knows Big Brother Sigurd really well. She's bound to have a great idea."
Liliya suggested seriously, and Rozaliya nodded furiously in agreement.
So, the two sisters decided to skip vocal practice for the day and huddled together, whispering away, plotting their next move for marriage strategy— ahem, I mean, their capture plan.
