"Major Himeko. Status report."
A powerful voice carried through a the interface, connected via communications with another man on the other side.
Within a highly advanced, technological hub, stood a tall woman red hair, smiling slightly while staring down at the images of the destroyed city.
Of course, she wasn't smiling because she was happy or felt relief from seeing the destruction below, but rather, because she knew the situation was going to be controlled.
She had faith in her students.
And of course, she had faith in the man that just asked for a report.
"Kiana has taken down the main ship. But several buildings have been destroyed. I sense a few hundred honkai signatures all around the place."
The masculine voice rung through the room, the very same one the woman by the name, Himeko, seemed to be talking to.
Groaning slightly, Himeko rubbed her temples.
"It's a little complicated. Long story short, Soukai City is under a great threat and it's up to us to see to it that the 30 million people that reside there are protected."
"I see. Then I shall see to it right away." The man on the other side cut the coms and decided to contact another person.
"Kiana...! I've received a report from Major Himeko."
On the other side of the coms, a young girl with white hair, tied into braided twin tails grinned brightly. Her skintight battle suit was died with white, black and orange and she carried around two pistols with her.
She dodged attacks from a few zombies while her blue yes playfully scanned the perimeter around her.
"Took your sweet time, huh ?" She joked.
"Save the sass for later, Kiana. Just make sure the battleship does not crash or fall. You will meet up with Mei shortly after and then, you can come and regroup with myself and Bronya once we've entered the designated location. I've sent the location to you already."
He didn't bother waiting for a reply and immediately cut the coms with her.
He then turned to the girl standing next to him and smiled at her. She was a short girl with grey hair styles like drills, tied into two twin tails as well. She was quite petite and wore a passive expression on her face.
"Well, are you ready to move, Bronya ?" He asked her.
"Whenever you are ready, Captain."
Her dull reply made him close his eyes and smile softly. "I already told you to call me Alex. We've gotten quite close after all."
"Even so, Captain is a higher ranked officer and must be addressed as such." Her reply made him hum in response.
The captain in question, was a tall, lean male with glossy, curly black hair. His eyes were bright, crimson and seemed to radiate power, pitch black pupils and a black outline on the iris. The man in question seemed to be older than Bronya, but still young enough to be considered a teenager.
His name was Alexander Black.
His outfit was surprisingly formal.
He didn't bother changing into a battle suit and simply wore a regular white long sleeved shirt with black dress pants, as well as a well tailored, dark tuxedo on top and a dark tie. His shoes were glossy black, properly polished and his hands, for some odd reason, were covered with white gloves. Both hands.
"Hmm. Looks like we've reached a standstill." He then turned his head slightly in her directly, his crimson eyes narrowing slightly.
He quickly waves his hand, a long weapon suddenly appearing on his hand from thin air. Red and black particles flutter around his arm as this weapon was brought to life, forming a long and powerful red blade, brimming with power. It was a large curved blade that seemed too big and heavy to be used for combat.
It looked like a ceremonial blade.
It was a Khadga.
Without hesitation, he swung his blade backwards, narrowly avoiding cutting Bronya and the zombie a few metres away from her was instantly sliced in two by the energy carried by the slash from the blade.
"Project Bunny might need some upgrades. Come to me if you want any, and I'll lend you my mind at any time." His voice was regal and calm, almost kingly.
Bronya shrugged and nodded her head. A holographic keyboard formed in front of her and she began typing away on it.
"I hope you don't mind if I clear the path for us ? We do still have to catch up to Kiana and Mei, after all." Alex asked her politely, to which Bronya simply shook her head.
"It seems we've come to an agreement. It has indeed been a while since I've been out in the field."
He held his khadga out, holding the end of the handle to show off the true size of the heavy weapon bigger than his arm, brimming brightly with crimson power.
"Are you sure you want to fight in that outfit, Captain ?" Bronya enquired.
First of all, his outfit was too formal for a fight.
Secondly, it seems very expensive and the chances of it getting damaged is pretty high when facing the honkai.
But that's not how Alex sees it at all.
In fact, it is exactly because it is so expensive and luxurious, that he decided to wear it for battle.
He walked forward, the doors clicking and sliding open in front of him, allowing the light to flood the inside of their little ship. The top of the weapon sliding it's way along with him, the blades top scratching against the floor.
As the doors opened, Alex immediately began to eye just how many enemies had gathered and how many more would gather. Just earlier, him and Bronya entered one of the enemy ships and were on their way to the main battleship.
Alex's sharp eyes immediately traced down the several honkai zombies and archangels present.
"Let's just get on with it, shall we ?" He says with a bright smile on his face, and then he moved move his blade up and slashed it sideways, annihilating the zombies next to him.
His foot seemed to lean forward, before a massive quantity of force made the ship jerk as Alex launched himself into the air.
Weapon drawn in hand, he quickly hacked the Cassiel, splitting it in two and leaving it to disintegrate into dust.
He then comes to a pause and smirks at the sudden appearance of a Templar. But did such a thing faze the ever-so confident captain ?
Not at all.
While he was in the air, he twisted his body and reeled his weapon and by customary, the next attack, back. Twisting his body sideways in the area, two tufts of energy were launched on either end of the weapon.
The curved blade collided with the shield of the Templar, making the jet rumble. The blade easily cut through the shield, making it smoke and bubble as if made of butter. It tried stabbing Alex with its lance, but the man disappeared into a sea of red.
He then appeared behind the Templar and extended a hand out, an action with immediately resulted in its death as a long, sharp crimson spike, twisted around to form a drill-like shape, impaled the beast.
He spun the khadga in his hand like spinning saw and threw it at the remaining enemy, slicing through its shield, before reappearing and grabbed the blade again. He would had just had to go and drive the khadga down to destroy it's head.
But as he swung the khadga down, he revealed his attack to simply be and feint. The attack was truly aimed after the left wing of the aircraft they were fighting on top off, destroying it and rendering the vehicle off balance.
Alex didn't bother wasting time. As soon as he was done with that attack, he twisted his weapon and embedded it in the side of the honkai beast.
He launched himself in the air and catapulted up and around the honkai beast, dragging the scythe along the way, before suddenly tugging at the weapon to rip it out from the other side.
The honkai beast did only after it was mutilated and unexpectedly so.
"Captain Alexander. Kiana has successfully landed on the battleship. It will crash after 30 minutes. All members are in position. Are you and Bronya in position, Captain ?" Himeko questioned from the other side, curious about his progress.
Her questions only made him shrug casually. "I believe we are, Major. Just give us a minute or two to enter the battleship. Bronya! You done ?"
"Yes, Captain. System protocols have been maximized. Project Bunny has also been mobilized." Bronya twirled the guns in her hand while a giant robot floated around behind her.
"Rendezvous with Kiana and Mei within the battleship. Kiana encountered an Emperor Class Honkai Beast and we've lost track of it."
"Alright Major. I suppose I'll handle that one as well." The confident voice of the Captain remained unwavering and calm.
"Ready to jump ?" Alex asked the girl beside him, who leaned into Project Bunny's large mechanical arms to be picked up.
Bronya nodded and made the leap from the aircraft to the battleship. Alex waited until she made the leap before following suit.
"Alright Major. We've successfully landed on the battleship. I repeat, the landing was a success. Currently breaching in."
This was swiftly followed by a loud, bright explosion right behind him, sending fire and smoke into the air and lighting the place up.
Alex was unfazed by the explosion behind him and stayed completely stoic and stationary.
"Well done, Bronya. Now, shall go in ?"
He received a thumb's up in response.
