Chapter 53 - Myourmile

After the announcement I just started working and preparing for future events. With Hinata on the way, I've got a decent amount of stuff to work on with a time limit on my head which is why I haven't really been doing anything else. This has gotten more annoying than difficult as I've been doing this because a certain impatient Fairy refuses to leave me alone. Well, ignoring that I check my internal clock. Looks like it's time. Myourmile should arrive in Tempest soon.

For Myourmile, I have a few propositions for him to help draw him in. I've got a lot of relatively meaningless inventions to the future of Tempest that would likely sell really well everywhere else. Things like basic self heating or cheap makeup. Things humans seem to care about way more than Monsters. I've been thinking about talking to him about the festival as well but that might be a little too soon. Dropping something like that on him on our first meetup might be a little too soon. I'll wait a month or two to get him on board, this festival did take a while to set up after all.

As I plan this out, Ramiris flies in again. Somehow getting through my security. Instantly teleporting my plans into their respective drawers Ramiris yells, "Migeru! I..."

"Stop. Before you say anything, just wait more. I've told you before, I'm busy." I look at her, "How'd you even get in here? I have multiple layers of security." She whistles awkwardly and looks away. "You know what, never mind, I'll look into it later. Just, stop. I'm busy, I'll work on your Labyrinth later."

"But..."

"No buts." Rubbing my forehead I say, "Aren't you supposed to be thousands of years old? Act like it."

She angrily pouts, about to try to respond when I hear Beretta running in. Unable to get through my barrier, I put it down and let him in. He tries to calm down as he bows and yells, "I-I deeply apologize, Lord Migeru! She somehow escaped when I wasn't looking! I apologize for the inconvenience!" He grabs her. As soon as her freedom is taken she flails around trying to get free.

"Uh, yeah, sure. Don't worry about it. I understand that she can be a handful to deal with."

"I thank you for your understanding!"

"Yeah, sure, just keep an eye on her." He thanks me again and runs out with the flailing Ramiris.

That was something. Anyways. I turn back to my papers as I make some reappear in front of me. These should be enough for Myourmile. I walk out as I put them in my [Stomach]. I walk out with a pretty casual set of clothes. These are what I'm planning to wear to our first meeting. It shouldn't be too serious considering what kind of person Myourmile is so I won't stress about clothing here.

As I walk out of my lab I see Gobzi with the Goblin Guard staged outside my lab. Deciding to greet them I say, "Hey Gobzi."

"Hello, Lord Migeru."

As he responds I look at his group. With Kevin as a Goblin General now their group has gotten stronger but they look really tired. I look over at some tents nearby with food that seems to have been delivered from one of the restaurants as a few people in Tempest have begun to set up. Are they tired? "Hey, how long have you all been working?"

Gobzi calmly responds, "Five days."

"Five days!?" I haven't been paying much attention to them given I've spent the majority of my time the past few days in my lab but I had a feeling this was happening. I look at Kevin. Just as expected, he looks completely unaffected by this. But ignoring him the rest don't look too happy about this arrangement. They might end up like the Orcs at this rate. Better fix this, "I appreciate the dedication but just remember to take breaks. You don't have to only work." As I say this the Hobgoblins in the background all breathe a sigh of relief.

Gobzi thinks about this. "Understood, Lord Migeru." As I walk away Gobzi announces that they will all get 4 hours free each day. I guess that's better than nothing.

I walk to my meeting office which isn't very far. In fact, it's right next to my lab being set up there early on in Migeru City's development. I haven't really done much with it recently given I usually go to other countries or Rimuru City to talk about important stuff but it exists. Come to think of it, not much happens here compared to Rimuru City given it's mainly a development section of Tempest but I'm fine with it. The Twin Capitals will eventually merge into one city so I don't really care what this city looks like for now because of it. I am basically immortal after all, seeing the two fuse is something I will most likely live to see. I walk in and wait in my office as I look at the Goblina charged with taking care of the office. She apparently comes in every week or so to clean it. She's pretty short with glasses. It's a little awkward. After a few hours I finally hear a knock at the door.

I walk over and greet him, "Nice to see you again."

He laughs, "The pleasure is all mine Sir Migeru."

I guide him to a table and invite him to have a seat. This building isn't very big which is why all official meetings happen in the center of Rimuru City but it is useful for what I plan to use it for. Private meetings. As we sit down I give him a glass of Tempestian Wine and get ready to talk. [Solomon], turn down my resistance to poison.

{Answer- No.}

That was blunt. Please?

{Warning- The drinks have been confirmed to contain poison. Weakening resistance to...}

Just do it.

{Warn...}

[Solomon].

{Herrr, fine.}

As I feel my resistance lower I think about [Solomon]. It seems to be developing faster than anticipated. But I guess that confirms my theory. Moving past that I say, "So, Myourmile, remember how I have a few plans to share with you?"

"Why of course."

Making them appear in front of him I say, "Well, here they are. And don't worry, I've worked out

a lot of it on my own as well. They should be pretty easy to understand."

As he reaches for them he smiles and says, "Jumping right to it aren't you?"

"I guess, but I'm a little busy right now so stalling isn't really good right now."

He chuckles a little as he begins looking through them commenting, "I can see that. These cities are quite interesting."

"I guess they are."

He looks at the papers and is noticeably intrigued by my proposals. Everything is meticulously planned out by [Solomon] and I so these are really stable proposals guaranteed to make a profit.

He comments, "I see you've done your research Sir Migeru. Everything to its finest detail is planned out. I don't even have to do any work."

"I'm a thorough person, you know."

A lot of these proposals revolve around my inventions and ideas from the modern world like fast food restaurant chains. Funny enough, as I stated earlier, there are already a few of them in the Twin Capitals. I gave that idea to a few aspiring Hobgoblins a while back by accident and they took it and ran with it. They've gotten really successful, even setting up restaurants in Blumund itself.

"So this is where that idea came from?"

I see he's seen them before. "Yeah, I accidentally gave the idea to some Hobgoblins about 5 months ago. It was still in its infancy back then but it seems they figured it out on their own."

As he looks through them I answer his questions. He seems really impressed. A few of these prepositions are gold mines like as I said before, the makeup. This world has stuff that works to enhance beauty but a lot of it is either locked behind magic or pretty expensive meaning normal people can't really afford a lot of it. This world is decently advanced so some decently affordable options do exist but again, not very common. My proposal would be cheap to make and sell with really good results meaning with Myourmile's skills this is basically guaranteed to make him a fortune assuming he plays his cards right.

With money signs in his eyes as he looks through my proposals. "I gotta hand it to ya Sir Migeru. These are great, but why give them to me?"

"Well, I've looked through your schemes before and you seemed really competent and trustworthy. Given that I decided to give you a chance assuming you give Tempest a cut of the profits. That's basically it. I'm going with a guy feeling here."

He comments, "A gut feeling. That's not really what I expected from a king."

"I guess so. But there are good long term benefits here. Assuming this goes well you could help me introduce Tempestian products to the rest of the world. That could open a lot of doors for me as well. For now we're pretty much just limited to Dwargon and Blumund with Eurazania focused on its reparations from the destruction of its capital. Opening up connections to other countries will definitely be useful." He seems to get a good understanding of what I'm doing.

Explaining a little more I reveal a decent amount of my plan. What I'm planning to achieve is get a good flow of money established in Tempest. Currently, with Tempest lacking in traditional money, functioning a lot of the idea of monsters doing what Rimuru and I say without question, getting it to connect with other countries might be difficult. That's why Rimuru is currently trying to get actual currency to become more common back in Rimuru City. With what I'll do, I'll basically try to jumpstart the economy of Tempest through manipulating things in the background. This being one of many ploys to get Dwargon currency to flow into and around Tempest. I explain part of this plan to Myourmile who understands and accepts knowing that getting an early start would help him a lot in the future. He understands how important this'll be in the future which is why I knew getting him to join Tempest like the original would definitely be worth it. He's a really competent merchant.

We continue to work through our future plans with Myourmile picking the projects he thinks will be the best to take on right now, knowing that all at once would be way too much work. As he does this I give him help to get him to catch on to a lot of the newer concepts better. With my help I can already see the McDonalds level restaurant chain we're going to make in the future.

The conversation itself does end up getting less and less serious though because of the wine but that's half the fun here. It's been years since I've felt this so I better make the most of it. After about an hour we wrap up and Myourmile leaves. That's when I hear it.

{Notice- Reactivating poison resistance.}

Wait! What the hell was that!? [Solomon]! At least wait until it's over!

{No.}

What do you mean no!?

{...}

"Solomon!" I hear an eep behind me. The Goblina looks a little concerned.

"L-Lord Migeru, are you okay?"

"Eh? Oh, yeah. I'm fine Ayaka." I used [Tempest Link] to find out her name.

{Hehe.}

I heard that.

Migeru Clone's Perspective

The same clone that was sent to set up The Reaper in Farmus looks around the skyline of Ruberios. The Reaper mission wasn't it's only goal, discovering more about Luminous' connection with Migeru was also one. Looking around the area where Veldora and Chloe otherwise known as Hero Chronoa fought it finds something interesting. An indent in the grass that used to be a crater. Looking at what it looked like the crater was obviously made by someone jumping off the ground at superhuman speeds.

Looking at the indent more something is discovered. The crater points towards the culprit jumping downwards meaning they could fly given there is no landing indentation where they would have landed. On top of that, with the shape of the crater by using [Solomon] the crater was made by a foot exactly the same shape as Migeru and Rimuru's, just, bigger. Slightly bigger. An interesting revelation. On top of that by looking at the trajectory of the man and where Veldora most likely spent a lot of his fight, whoever jumped most likely flew right past Veldora.

This could explain why Luminous knew him. If he jumped to save Luminous but avoided directly interacting with Veldora to avoid him noticing the resemblance to Migeru, Luminous knowing who he is would make sense.

The result of this analysis is obvious. Future Migeru made this crater. But that just leaves one question. Why would future Migeru go backwards in time? That would no doubt mess with the timeline. And why wasn't the timeline affected by Migeru's future jump to the past? Shizue only mentioned a single hero according to Rimuru. If he was with Chloe and Hinata, why wasn't he mentioned by Shizue?

With these questions in the mind of the real Migeru, the clone dissipates into Magicules.. Finally serving its purpose leaving behind a cloud of Magicules.
