Chapter 487 - Chapter 489: Your Name

[TL/N: New Book -

Anime Group Chat in a Doomsday World!]

-------

"Who are you? Are you here to kill me as well?"

The still nameless Tohka gazed at Alexander with wary eyes. As a Spirit, her life had been one of constant pursuit and danger, with humans relentlessly hunting her. Fear of her power drove them, and everyone seemed eager to end her existence.

Although she hadn't committed any irreversible deeds, Alexander knew that if she wasn't saved, she might one day inadvertently harm someone. Such an incident could set her on a tragic, unredeemable path.

At that moment, Alexander wasn't the only one to recognize her presence. Others nearby also spotted her figure. Realizing it was Tohka, a collective sigh of relief swept through the onlookers.

They knew Tohka wasn't likely to harm anyone intentionally. Her temperament was not one of aggression.

Of course, there were still those who feared her. But most of them had already fled in terror; only the brave—or foolish—remained, marveling from a safe distance.

---

"Ah! That's my wife!"

"Every day with this 'wife' nonsense. If you're so confident, go talk to her! Let's see if she doesn't cut you down with her sword."

"If it were Kurumi, I wouldn't dare. But with Tohka? Sure, I might have a chance. Alexander told us how to win her over, didn't he?"

"Exactly! Just introduce yourself, treat her to a nice meal, and then—offer her some bread. Who knows? My wife might really become my wife!"

"Keep dreaming, you fool! As if my wife would fall for such a cheap trick! If anyone's going to win her over, it's me!"

---

Hearing the absurd chatter, Alexander shot the crowd a disdainful look. 'Are these people really risking their lives for nonsense like this?'

He thought to himself, 'It's too dangerous to let Tohka be around these kinds of perverts in the future.'

Turning to Tohka, Alexander shook his head. "I'm not here to kill you. After all... I'm the person closest to you in this world."

"The closest person?" Tohka looked at Alexander in surprise. To be precise, she wasn't even "Tohka" yet. She hadn't been given a name before.

Suddenly, the sound of sirens filled the air. Police cars arrived in droves, soldiers armed to the teeth poured onto the scene, and fighter jets circled above. In moments, the entire area was surrounded.

Seeing the escalating situation, Tohka's expression turned somber. "As expected... Someone still came to kill me. But... why aren't those flying girls here this time?"

Alexander couldn't help but stifle a laugh. He glanced at the nearby fighter jets and smirked. 'Are they serious? Do they really think these weapons can subdue Tohka? This is absurd.'

"Spirit Yatogami Tohka! You are surrounded! Lay down your arms! This is your only way out!" came the booming voice of Ginzo through a loudspeaker.

"Huh?" Tohka blinked in confusion. "Who is he talking about?"

Alexander chuckled and explained, "He's talking about you. By the way, your name is Yatogami Tohka. It seems today is the day you'll be called that for the first time."

"Yatogami Tohka?" she murmured, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "That's a beautiful name! Is it really mine? Did you give it to me?"

Tohka's joyful expression warmed Alexander's heart. Seeing her so delighted over something as simple as a name, he smiled.

"That's right. It's the name I chose for you. Do you like it?"

As Alexander's words reached her, the bystanders erupted in disbelief.

"What?! Why does 'he' get to name her?!"

"I can't believe this! Alexander is so shameless!"

"Wait a second! Isn't Alexander the author of her world? It makes sense for him to name her!"

"Exactly! Even Shido's name was given by him. What's the big deal?"

"It's over! I can see it now—Tohka's favorability for him is skyrocketing! No! My Tohka!"

"Curse you, Alexander! You've stolen my wife! This isn't over! I'll curse you a thousand times over!"

"That should be me, not him!"

Alexander rolled his eyes at the dramatic reactions from the peanut gallery. 'These onlookers... Their imaginations are too wild.'
