Light advanced with his sword blazing and eyes reflecting the flames. Triss followed closely, preparing for battle.

"Let's finish this quickly and get out of here," she said, her sharp eyes assessing the opponent. She had faced much stronger foes before, but knew better than to underestimate her enemy.

[Mana 90/100]
In an instant, Light blurred forward, his blade aimed at Ekichar's neck. Ekichar didn't remain idle; he blocked the attack with one hand, wielding his blood-forged blade, while using the other to summon flames, trying to disable Light.
[Light cast Earth Manipulation]
[Mana 85/100]
Flames crackled as they met a wall of earth, the fiery tongues trying to pierce through the barrier that shielded Light. But it wasn't enough; Light pressed the attack without pause.
[Light cast Cyclone]
[Mana 60/100]
The wind howled as it gathered force, surging forward like a destructive dragon. The wall exploded, sending stone fragments flying in every direction, some as large as a man's head. Ekichar, with his agility, dodged several of the shards but couldn't evade them all.
Tired of being a punching bag, Ekichar decided to fight seriously. Even if he died, the witch could revive him! The air heated as massive pillars of fire began advancing, destroying everything in their path. Even stone walls would struggle against such an inferno. The flames soon engulfed Light, and Ekichar felt satisfied with the result.
[Triss cast Water Shield]
Light continued his advance, undeterred by the attack, suffering only minor burns. Ekichar quickly realized the problem: the fairy was constantly protecting Light. He needed to deal with her now! He looked around, but Triss had vanished.
[Triss used Astral Travel]
[Triss cast Ice Crystal]
Behind the demon, a large crystal with a sharp point formed and shot toward him. Sensing the disturbance in mana, Ekichar turned and sliced it in half. But such an opening didn't go unnoticed.

[Light conjured Flame Manipulation]
[Mana 30/100]
White flames condensed in Light's hand as his opponent responded with his own red flames. A thunderous boom echoed across the battlefield as Ekichar's side was blown open. Light pressed on with a new thrust, the blade piercing Ekichar's chest without resistance. But he didn't stop there; his enemy had an unbelievable vitality.
[Light conjured Flame Manipulation]
[Mana 10/100]
The flames on the sword began to flow faster and denser, spreading inside Ekichar's chest. His body started to glow like a Halloween pumpkin, his eyes wide with agony as flames burst from his mouth and smaller wounds. Every opening in his body grew larger and larger, consumed by the fire.
With a final cry of effort, Light gathered all his strength and delivered a devastating horizontal slash. Ekichar's body, now just a charred husk, fell lifeless to the ground, the flames slowly dying out as smoke rose into the sky.

[Your glory reaches the gods!]
[Aura 34 -> 38]
Light stood in front of the corpse for a moment, offering a silent prayer. The war raged around them, but Triss, seeing this, raised a barrier to keep them unnoticed. Confused, she questioned her companion.
"I thought you hated the gods and everything related to them."
"I hope my prayer reaches Rorik, not any god" Light replied, finishing the prayer and turning to the fairy.
"You can take things to another plane, so you're carrying this corpse."
"What?"
"I said you're taking this with you because it'll be useful later!" Triss, replaying the battle in her mind, began to realize that Light had used new abilities and was far stronger than when they had last parted.
"Now that I think about it, you didn't become a fallen, did you?" Light shook his head vigorously, a angelic smile on his face.
"Our lord blessed me with powers to rescue you." It was always difficult to distinguish those on the path of corruption from those on the path of ascension in the early stages; no one was sure of anything.
"He's just a sacrifice for him! After all, this is a descendant of demons; surely he'll be pleased with such an offering." Triss, her eyes half-closed, tried to discern the truth but failed.
"When did you convert?" she asked, still trying to catch a flaw in the story.
"After I was left alone with no guide" Light's eyes were dark and lifeless. "And a sea of enemies to fight, all craving my blood and that of my friends" his hands went to his face as if afraid just to remember, "I had no one to turn to but our lord!" His hands reached toward the sky as he tried to mimic the event. "He never forgot me, extending his gracious hand to me." With a sigh, Triss took the corpse and transported it to some mystical plane, inaccessible to others.
"Let's get out of here before things get worse." This time, she was commanding, and if he refused, they would have to fight. Without resistance, they both walked away from the battlefield.
With a final glance, Light saw the Elven Guardian and his men fighting against the Lord of Dirgrad. The dwarves seeking revenge were already dead. The witch was gravely wounded and in her final moments, yet still refused to fall, black flames coursing through her body, dealing as much damage as possible.
"We'll have to deal with them eventually; wouldn't it be better to help?"
"We'll become slaves if we do. Just ignore the suffering around us; we're not from here, and this isn't our problem."
'For a servant of a merciful angel, you're quite ruthless' Light thought.
Light and Triss moved swiftly away from the battlefield, the distant cries and clashes of the ongoing conflict gradually fading. They navigated through the desolate terrain, leaving behind the devastation and the suffering that had unfolded. The once-chaotic scene now lay quiet behind them, a stark contrast to the turmoil they had just escaped.
Triss, sensing Light's contemplation, broke the silence. "We must stay vigilant. This land may hold more dangers we can't yet foresee."
Light nodded, his thoughts lingering on the fate of the battle's participants. "We'll handle whatever comes next. Let's keep moving."
The two continued their journey, their steps echoing softly in the quiet aftermath of their departure, ready to face the challenges that awaited them in the uncertain future.
