Night Silver returned home to Tus Nadair, she was clearly a little frustrated, and carried herself with a little bit of exhaustion. "How's the war going with everyone else? I haven't felt any of our people die, but fighting that bastard for so long took some effort…"
Issanth sighed, a little disappointed that she couldn't leave to join the battle herself, not knowing that the second part of the plan was about to go into full swing. Even so, she nodded. "There have been no reports of any of our people suffering any casualties. And we remain in constant contact with Niota and the others we sent to eliminate the enemy forces."
"Also darling, all of the ground work has long been finished, the seeds we sowed should begin to bear fruit in the very near future." Anastasi added, hugging Night Silver, adding a welcome home kiss.
"Mhmm, good, it's long since been time that the continent fends for themselves. I have no desire to own the whole thing, and yet they continue to siphon off our resources. It's not a problem for us right now, but this situation is exactly like what I had suspected might happen. The other countries decide to rely on our aid, while failing to improve on their own selves, and some even openly mock our culture."
"It is a shame that these people didn't accept our offers of citizenship here, but they've had more than enough time to make that choice." Issanth noted. "Dragon Lords even joined us. So there isn't an excuse another person could possibly come up with." She added, annoyed by the flat out rejection of the culture by outsiders, even in the face of all the Nadairian kindness & aid.
"It's fine, with my magic, we were able to make the underground feel exactly like the surface. So it's not like we're going to struggle. Besides, we still have the Elven nation as our surface public front." A random Elven woman noted, brushing her hair behind her ear with a gentle stroke of her hand.
"Alright, we will continue the plan to remove Tus Nadair from the world stage. All of my children out there, that are keeping the remaining Demon Gods at bay should understand that their orders are to not move in the slightest unless directly and boldly attacked by the enemy." Night Silver commanded, taking a seat in a soft chair made of fruit bearing vines, she plucked one of the fruits, taking a bite. "Finally got to eat something. So good…"
Soon one of Brightness' children entered the room, and bowed to Night Silver. "Step-mother, I have finished my training, and am ready for my mission to begin." He said, blushing slightly at the absolute beauty before him. Father had this woman before mother? What was he thinking? This woman, she's, incredible. Even I'd fall for her- no, I already sort of have.
"Good, you'll be the representative from the Dragon Kingdom. Soon the nations will gather a small elite team together and tackle the remaining Demon Gods. Do a good job in your mission, and I'll reward you properly, with anything you want." Night Silver stated, ensuring that the message got across. "Any questions?"
"Just one; Why can't Tus Nadair do it? I've seen first hand how much is left in reserves right now."
"Because, the continent must finish this trial on their own. If it's just Tus Nadair handling everything from here on out, we might as well take over the entire continent, this wouldn't be fair to anyone else's individuality, and cultural differences. Plus, there would be numerous other efforts by the unwilling, to fight their way out. Finally, I don't care about doing something so troublesome. Besides, I'm already seen by many as an evil woman, even if they don't show it, I can feel it."
The young dragon man thought about it for a moment before finally coming to a realization that there was no longer any need to worry about the intentions of his mission. "All I have to do is serve as a core of the team to ensure their fighting power so the demon Gods are actually defeated?"
"Correct."
"Then allow me to be on my way. I won't fail to kill a few false gods." He smirked. "And then I'll return for my reward."
…
The great cathedral, in the Slane Theocracy, once the gathering place of heroes trained by their gods, now served as a grim reminder of all the forces that were lost in that hellish battle. Here were gathered 20 individuals. The 13 that wore their full equipment were of various different strengths, and of the faces that were visible, each wore the same grim expression after hearing the report of the first battle with the Demon Gods that wasn't carried out by Dragon Lords. 6 individuals were continuously expressing their gratitude to all the powerful members for coming to aid in their time of need. And the final member in attendance was a cat maid descendant of the initial non-player characters that were part of the six great god's guild.
"Is this seriously the result of that battle?" A voice coming from a full suit of platinum armor asked, crossing his arms.
"It is, in hindsight, we should have equipped them with better gear, and not bothered to send anyone other than our god-kin into battle."
"I see, that is quite the set back to suffer." A gruff Dwarf added, with a narrow expression. "Let's go ahead and get this over with. We've got to train together at least a few times before going into combat." He said standing up.
An elf smiled, agreeing with the dwarf. "You're right, this will be a rather difficult fight ahead of us. I'd prefer to know that I can trust all of you to pull your own weight." She said, with a refined elegance.
Finally the last remaining god-kin couldn't take it anymore. "Stop mocking us! That fight was hell!"
"Oh, ho, I never mocked you, but I suppose maybe my intuition was right about you after all. Quick to anger, and full of narcissistic excuses. You even had the blessing of god's blood running through your veins, yet I'm pretty sure I could defeat you."
"OH YEAH! LET'S GO THEN!"
"Oh my, so hot blooded. Alright then." It wasn't much later when the fight finished, and the elf stood there, looking down on her now unconscious opponent. "Is that really all you had? No wonder why you guys lost so many people to the Demon God."
