Christian decided to concentrate on driving rather than sightseeing… at least, that was what he had intended.
Then, beyond the trees, the scenery suddenly opened up, and a vast construction site stretched across the landscape before him, far larger than anything he had expected to see along the parkway. He could only see part of it from the road, yet even that was enough to make him raise an eyebrow.
It was enormous.
A few cranes towered over the early stages of construction, while trucks and other heavy machinery moved across the newly cleared land. Workers were scattered throughout the site, though there were far fewer than one might expect for a project of this scale. Most of the land was still untouched, with only a handful of areas showing signs of active construction.
Christian slowed the car slightly, staring through the windshield.
"What is this place?"
