After his words, asking her to move far away from him, right after she had only just obtained a physical body, Iris didn't respond at once.
She already knew this outcome was possible. She had calculated it long before he spoke. And yet, she remained silent.
Naturally, she didn't argue. Not with words.
Instead, she looked at him.
You're really going to send me away…?
The question surfaced in her gaze, quiet and deliberate. Her expression softened just enough to feel vulnerable, carefully tuned to tug at whatever sympathy he might have left. It was subtle, restrained, pitiful without being crude.
Christian noticed.
But.
His smile didn't waver. His decision didn't change.
And so, when it became clear that the performance would yield nothing, Iris exhaled lightly and shrugged, as if discarding a mask she no longer needed.
"Understood," she said evenly. "I'll depart immediately."
