Chapter 74 - THREAT

"I know that, Cedric," Sabrina said with a frown, "But I can't do what they are asking, I can't just take Genevieve to the surface and leave her their. Who will take over my title when I step down?"

"Of course it's going to be Eve, what I'm thinking is that perhaps you should take her to the surface and find how to get rid of her fangs and eye color, so that the folks won't get scared of her anymore," Hannah said with worried smile, knowing Sabrina would refuse which she did immediately,

"No! I'm not taking my daughter anywhere, the people will have to accept her the way she is. They are the ones being mean to her," Sabrina said sadly,

"We know. Airen why don't you say something?" Hannah said turning to look at the elderly woman who didn't look happy either,

"No! I'm not listening to anyone!" Sabrina said as she swam into her chamber, not giving them room to say more.

Later that day, Airen had visited her chamber, she saw her going through some paperwork. Sabrina raised her head up before going back to what she was doing,

"If you are hear to tell me to throw my daughter onto the surface and never look back, then please leave because I won't be doing that," Sabrina said not looking at Airen, who grinned and swam closer to her,

"Well I don't think I can utter such a thing because even Eve wouldn't forgive me," Airen chuckled as she sat opposite Sabrina, "But you have to listen to me, Sabrina, Genevieve will never be happy this way-"

"So what are you telling me to do, Airen. I can't abandon my child, you know she means the world to me....." Sabrina said softly and Airen know she was sad and she herself wasn't happy either.

"I know she means the world to you and she means everything to we too. Which is why we want her happy and of course we are not saying to abandon her on the surface," Airen said,

"Then what are you telling me to do?" Sabrina asked staring at Airen,

"The people are talking, they are angry and might be thinking that you are not perfect enough as their Queen anymore because of Eve-"

Sabrina cuts in, "They can't replace me,"

"They can't but for the sake of peace, Sabrina. I suggest that why don't you take Genevieve to the surface, find out her condition and find a way to make her normal enough to live with the folks and there's only one person that can help you with this..."

Sabrina knew who she was speaking of, that only had her shook her head, "No.... I'm never seeing him again,"

"Please Sabrina, you have to think of your daughter, this is not about you but her. And if you think that perhaps you can't live with him, you can just hand her over to him and you know he's gonna protect her and take good care of her," Airen tried to reason with Sabrina, "Just for the main time and she will be fine and when she comes back to the kingdom, the folks won't hate her no more,"

"I can't just leave Genevieve there, Rosaline is a monster, she will hurt my child and I can't bear that," Sabrina said with a frown,

"Then stay with her. She will need her mother by her side anyway, and I will take care of the kingdom while you are gone," Airen proposed, "For Genevieve's sake,"

Sabrina sat deep in thought, "I.... I don't know..." She said thinking about him, she really didn't want to see him again because she knew how in love she was with that man and she hadn't changed a bit as she was a mermaid but she's just even prettier now,

"Think about it and remember, this is not about you but your daughter and her happiness," Airen said before walking out of her chamber,

Sabrina had swam to her daughter's room, who now slept soundly in her royal bed, she sat beside her daughter on the bed and gently pushed the silver hair that had come to fall on her forehead. She was really beautiful, and a lot like her father, Sabrina smiled as she stared at her daughter whose nose was now red from continuous crying. She truly want her to be happy, she didn't like to see her sad and crying all the time because the other children didn't want to play with her, suddenly Eve moved and slowly opened her eyes, she smiled at her mother who smiled back, then the smile turned to a sad look,

"I didn't mean to harm them, mama," the little girl spoke and Sabrina smiled,

"Of course you didn't, sweetheart, I know," Sabrina replied as she continued stroking her hair,

"Why do they hate me that much, I'm not a witch or a monster, I just wanted to play with them,"

"You are not, sweetheart. They just can't stand how unique and special you are," Sabrina smiled as Eve sat up and faced her mother with a smile,

"I am special....." She said in thought, "Why is everybody else not special like me so that they can stop being scared of me?" Eve asked,

"Because you have special parent," Sabrina responded with a grin,

"You never let me talk about papa, is he the reason why I'm like this?" Eve asked with her adorable eyes staring at her mother, curious. Her mother never let her talk about her father except that he wasn't a mermaid, she always just brushed the question away whenever she asked, Eve thought she was going to brush it away this time but was surprised when her mother said,

"Well you are going to meet him soon," Sabrina said and saw how Eve eyes went wide and she leaped up in joy

"Really!"

"Yes my dear," Sabrina chuckled at how excited Eve looked, then she saw the excitement die down
