It was Theo's third shard, and he only needed two more to upgrade his system. It seemed that his system had gifted him with shards only when he made important progress and experienced a qualitative change.
"Pfft- Done already? What kind of sudden seclusion is that?" Elara tried to withhold her laughter, but only managed to turn it into a graceless snort.
Theo didn't get angry with her. In fact, he could now sense a weak connection with her, and it told him everything he needed to know. Though the bond wasn't as deep as the one he shared with Veronica, Elara, too, was tied to him. This bond could not be one-sided, so it meant she regarded him as hers.
