"Alice, what familiars do you have left?"
Aoko asked, sitting cross-legged on the bed, her expression serious as she faced Alice in the wooden chair. Since they were discussing countermeasures, confirming their own trump cards was the top priority. Thus, Aoko was the first to speak, inquiring about Alice's familiars.
Alice nodded slightly, mentally calculating her remaining forces. "Besides the Giant of the Bridge being damaged, I haven't suffered any other losses," she said, her tone flat.
"That's a pretty big loss," Aoko clicked her tongue. Though she was a mess, she was only injured. But Alice had lost one of the witch's three great secret treasures. It was a wonder she could be so calm.
Hearing this, Alice paused for a moment. "The Giant of the Bridge should be repaired by tonight," she said, her voice calm.
"Alice, I remember you saying that the raw materials for the three great secret treasures can't be found anymore," Aoko raised an eyebrow, a look of surprise on her face.
"There's still some in stock at home," Alice said, her gaze flickering slightly, and she raised her voice a little to explain to Aoko.
'Hmm, I'm not lying. Haru's house has some in stock.' Alice blushed slightly, thinking to herself. After all, their relationship was already at the point where she would have to change her surname. So, it wasn't wrong to say it was her home.
"I see." Aoko nodded, completely convinced. In her mind, for such a fragile item, it was normal to keep some in stock at home, just in case.
"Then, Alice's combat power is completely intact." Aoko's lips curved into a faint smile. For her, who was about to face a strong enemy, the fact that their side's combat power was preserved was indeed good news.
"Then, what about you, Aoko?" Alice looked at Aoko on the bed with a hint of worry. The young woman's tragic state from last night was still fresh in her mind. Though Aoko's injuries were completely healed, the psychological scars...
Sensing Alice's concerned gaze, Aoko froze for a moment, then grinned and rubbed the back of her head. "Besides being low on mana, everything else is fine. Haru's skills are really not bad. I remember my throat was bitten off by that mutt, and he could still save me. It's a pity that guy didn't become a doctor."
"Is that so?" Alice sighed softly, her expression returning to its usual placid calm.
Since Aoko could still smile, then her worries were indeed a little unnecessary. That's right, the Aoko she knew would never be crushed by a mere negative emotion.
Alice, lost in thought, didn't see the shadow in Aoko's azure eyes. Though Aoko wouldn't be crushed, the negative effects were, in the end, still there.
"Then, our side has two intact combatants. My sister's side, she, a magus, plus a Phantasmal Species..." Aoko frowned, comparing the strength of the two sides.
"I've fought Touko before. If it's just her, I have a certain degree of confidence. But that werewolf that can ignore magic..."
At the end, Alice shook her head. Her fairy tale familiars were fine against mages, but against a Phantasmal Species whose mystery was far beyond that of her familiars, she was truly helpless.
Aoko frowned, recalling Beo's physique. "Hey, Alice. Is there a way to avoid that mutt's ability to ignore magic? For example, instead of using magic, use a powerful physical attack? Like your Rose Hound's bite and the Giant of the Bridge's stone fist?"
Alice shook her head again, her tone flat. "Don't be fooled by its wolf-like appearance. A Phantasmal Species can change its body at will. If it wants to—a skyscraper-sized body is not impossible."
"Huh? You mean, the other party can completely turn into a little monster??" Aoko was instantly taken aback, a look of bewilderment on her face.
"—Aoko, you've already entered the magical world. Hurry up and abandon your normal person's way of thinking. And watch less TV," Alice said, closing her eyes, not wanting to see Aoko's comical expression, her tone displeased.
However, Aoko completely ignored her magic teacher's advice and said with a panicked expression, "What if that mutt turns into a deep-sea monster? That kind of super disgusting thing—I don't even want to fight it!"
"As an island country resident, you're afraid of seafood?" Alice pressed a hand to her forehead, her face covered in black lines. She really had no way to deal with Aoko.
"Aoko, you broke through the werewolf's defense yesterday?" Alice opened her eyes, her sharp gaze fixed on Aoko.
"Uh, I just pierced the fur on its neck and made a hole. That one blow probably cost me eighty percent of my magical power. I can only use it once," Aoko said, sitting up straight under the sharp gaze, and honestly reported last night's situation.
"That's good. At least we have a trump card to counterattack. You're lacking magical power, right?" Hearing this, Alice heaved a sigh of relief. She began to take out a series of small vials from her pocket. Inside them was a golden gas. There were a total of eight vials, neatly placed before Aoko.
"What's this?" Aoko asked, a look of surprise on her face as she looked at the small vials.
"Substantialized magical power. If you're low on mana, just drink a bottle," Alice said with a nonchalant tone.
"Oh!!!" Aoko suddenly understood. Then, her expression changed drastically, and she said with a look of terror, "...What's the raw material?"
Though she was a half-baked True Magic User, Aoko knew that the most common raw material for a mana potion was a Magus's bodily fluid!
"Don't worry, the raw material is provided by Haru. It's just the power that overflowed when he was experimenting with magic," Alice said flatly.
Then, she thought for a moment and said, "His magical power is exceptionally abundant, so it overflows into the atmosphere. This is what I collected."
"—Is that so?!" Aoko's face was embarrassed. She turned her head away and played with her hair with her fingers, not daring to look at Alice.
She didn't believe a word of what Alice said. Aoko remembered clearly that when Alice was teaching her—she had said that the mana potions she could make had to use bodily fluids.
And the eight bottles of potion before her were probably 'collected' by Alice. To have her drink Haru's certain fluid—that Alice had collected.
Sorry, she really couldn't do it!!!!!
'But speaking of which, have the two of them already developed to this stage?' Aoko clicked her tongue.
