Yang Qian's dad gave Yang Qian a sidelong glance and said, "I need to talk to Liu Chen about something. You go to the kitchen and help your mom."
"I won't."
Yang Qian wasn't reassured, leaving Liu Chen alone in the living room. What if he slipped up?
"Come on, baby girl, be good, or I'm going to get upset." Yang Qian's dad said.
Yang Qian's family was very strict. Though they wouldn't discipline her with a raised hand for every disagreement, her dad still had impressive authority at home.
"Alright then."
Yang Qian looked at her father's eyes and finally gave in, slinking away to the kitchen.
Even in the kitchen, she craned her neck at the doorway, eavesdropping on the conversation between Liu Chen and her dad in the living room.
Yang Qian's mom was busy in the kitchen. Seeing her daughter so anxious, she consoled, "Qianqian, no worry, your dad's less strict with your husband than I am. Trust me, he'll surely be satisfied."
"I hope you're right."
