Appearing alongside King Berlik were a young man and a middle-aged man.
These were the two who had plotted to marry Caroline off to another.
"Caroline, is this your lover? Finally showing his face, huh," the young man sneered.
Caroline stared at the young man and said, "Aren't you just trying to vie for my position? If I leave the royal family, you'll become the rightful first heir."
This young man was a long-lost grandson that King Berlik discovered not long ago. Having fallen from grace years ago, he was recently found and brought to live in the palace.
Interestingly, he is Caroline's brother, albeit a half-brother, sharing some of the same bloodline.
