The entire headquarters heard Kokichi's loud scream and breaking stuff, Kokichi was kicking everything around him and throwing them with all the power he had while screaming, both Irie and Sawada stood quietly while watching his tantrum, he threw himself on the floor while watching the ceiling, Sawada and Irie didn't move and they just kept watching his actions, Kokichi bites his lips and spoke in a thick heavy voice: Kasai is kidnapped, Masahito is in a coma, and now this stupid explosion, and we don't even know if there are any survivors, Shozo and Kuina under the rubble, first the university attack now this explosion, what's next?
He started cursing while still on the floor, Irie began to clean after him while Sawada kept standing in his please quietly not moving, he had a calm expression, Midori entered the room and her eyes immediately widened from what she saw and she stood in her place not moving, both Sawada and Irie raised their fingers and pointed at Kokichi who is still laying on the floor, in the meantime both Yasuo and Jun stood next the rubbles, Jun asked Yasuo in a calm and low tone: have you told Kirie?
Yasuo didn't respond, and Jun immediately knew the answer, They were both watching as workers were clearing the rubble, trying to find someone — even if it was just a body, The two of them started walking away from the scene when Jun suddenly stopped in his tracks, making Yasuo to stop as well and glance over with confusion on his face , Jun walked into one of the alleys, knelt down, picked something up, and held it up, Yasuo immediately recognized it — it was Kuina's phone, It was slightly damaged, likely from being near the explosion, but still have some damages on it, Jun turned to Yasuo and handed him the phone, Then they both continued walking until they reached the headquarters , Yasuo placed the phone on Irie's desk, Irie picked it up and nodded, opened his computer, and began trying to access it or transfer the data, The two men sat in silence, not uttering a single word, Then Irei's expression began to change — he looked shocked, He focused harder on the device, then suddenly stopped, stunned, He stood up and called for Sawada, Both men stood as Irie gestured for them to come over , When Sawada arrived, Irie began to speak: I saw the last thing Kuina did on her phone... she recorded this
The three saw the scene, Jun's eyes widened and Yasuo's mouth opened a little bit and his eyes narrowed while Sawada closed his mouth tightly, they saw the scene where Kuina captured Sakura and Asae, Yasuo took a deep breath while Jun shook his head left and right not believing what he just saw, Jun yell: She is dead, how could this happen! Tsurugi found the remnant of her corpse, Tsurugi took her corpse, this can't be h–
Yasuo cut him saying: and maybe Tsurugi is wrong, maybe the remnant belongs to another monster, I know Asae was close to the headquarters but still the corpse might belong to another beast, also Sakura spoke about Asae before Tsurugi found the corpse and after it , So it's just assumptions.
Irie raised his hand to stop speaking and announced seriously: that's not important, the important thing is that we have a hostage to save, the girl is in danger, she is so close to Asae and we don't know what she might do to her, we can't let her get closer to Asae more and we have to hunt Asae down again
They both moved their eyes from the screen and they both breathed slowly to calm themselves down, Sawada announced calmly: I Asked the French Branch to send us some backups.
Both Yasuo and Jun eyes widen and were about to argue but Iries raised his hand again to stop them , Yasuo bite his lips while Jun left while being mad , in the meantime Issei sat next Masahito speaking to him calmly while he is shaking his left leg , he kept speaking to Masahito and never move for hours hoping that he might gives him a response , Kirie and Asagiri sat inside the restaurant not knowing what to do , Kirie kept looking at the floor while some strands of her hair covered her face as she sat on the ground , she kept in this position the moment she got the news , none of them spoke at all , till Kohaku got in and signed for both of them to follow him , both of them stood up and kept following him , The atmosphere was suffocating as they follow Kohaku, until they reached the headquarters , Kohaku nodded to Kirie , who in turn lowered her head to the ground again but nodded back, then explained to Asagiri that starting today, both of them would stay and live at the headquarters until things calmed down , both of them get in and Asagiri was taken for some check ups , she's been in the check up room for hours till she got out tired , Kirie pulled her hand and whispers to her in a sweet voice: how about we go and eat some lunch since we didn't eat anything for hours
Kirie had been trying to cheer up and lift Asagiri's spirits, The cafeteria was full, yet quiet, due to everything that had happened recently, Kirie was still holding Asagiri's hand, gently pulling her along, They reached the line, and after half an hour, neither of them had taken much food—only a small amount after each insisted the other eat something, They sat quietly, observing the people in the hall in silence, Kirie's eyes would occasionally drift toward Kohaku, who was in the kitchen cooking and helping the others, Eventually, she stood up and decided to help him, Everyone was surprised by her action, even Asagiri, but no one said a word, Meanwhile, Sawada, Irie, Jun, and Yasuo were sitting together, Jun whispered: The others shouldn't know, Not even Tsurugi

Both Yasuo and Jun jumped from their place and start running to the medical section and it was in a chaos , everyone in the department have a survivor to focus on and checking on them and trying to help them , both Jun and Yasuo eyes searching for Shozo and Kuina but no use , they weren't found at any place , Jun walked in and check the place more maybe they would come out from thin air if he got in , Yasuo pulled him outside while he shook his head , Jun bites on his tongue and pushed Yasuo but weakly and calmly quietly then walked away from the section , Yasuo kept watching them before leaving , Yasuo stopped when he noticed Yanai and Yasuji sitting in one of the hallways , Yasuji were holding a book and looking at the photos while Yanai was looking at the wall quietly , Yasuo walked to them , Yasuji smiled when he saw him and ran to him and hugged him tightly , Yasauo returned the hug and didn't say anything , he sat with them without saying anything till he decided to break the silent and ask: does Shinohara know you are here?
Both of them nodded their head and he also nodded his head, Yasuji suddenly asked him about Shozo with innocent widened eyes and Yasuo didn't know how to answer him, Yasauo opened his mouth but no word came out, Shinohara came to take them, Yasuji ran to her and Yanai walked to her, Yasauo watched them quietly till they disappeared between the people, suddenly he said in a low whispering voice and widen eyes: Fukuji?
Then he noticed what he had said and calmed down, glancing to his right and left to make sure no one had seen or heard him, It was 6 p.m. on Friday, February 5th. Shinohara was walking with the two boys, holding their hands, They entered a small grocery store and started buying some necessities, then continued on their way home, After getting the boys ready for bed, Yanai held onto her and shook his head side to side, Shinohara tilted her head, not understanding what he meant—until she began to hear footsteps approaching them, She reached for her phone on the nearby table, but was attacked from a distance, resulting in bleeding in her left shoulder and stomach, Yasuji trembled in fear, and Yanai hugged him tightly with everything he had, Shinohara quickly grabbed her phone and ran to the boys, When she was attacked again by the long, thin, sharp object, she used her phone to block it, which caused it to stop momentarily, Seizing the chance, Shinohara picked up the two boys and held them in both arms, then jumped through the window, shattering it with her body, She did everything she could to make sure the boys weren't harmed, She stood up with great difficulty and continued running while still holding the children tightly, until she felt something sharp pierce her right thigh and begin to drag her, as she struggled to resist and keep moving
She collapsed to the ground—the pulling had intensified, causing her to drop the two children, The world began to darken around her, but she fought to stay conscious, She opened her mouth to tell the boys to run, but then stopped, Yanai bit his lip and picked up Yasuji, mouthing words that she managed to piece together "Help is coming" She smiled and nodded gently, and then the pulling became stronger, Tears streamed down the boys' faces, but Yanai ran while carrying Yasuji with all his strength, trying to muffle Yasuji's cries, Yanai looked to his right and left as he panted and trembled, sweat pouring down his body, His eyes widened, and he tried to stop, but it was too late—he collided with the figure standing before him, He hugged Yasuji tightly, The monster standing in front of him looked at him with complete coldness, Yanai held Yasuji close, trying to shield him from the scene that was about to unfold, Meanwhile, Shinohara was dragged to the one pulling her, Standing before her was Eshe , staring at her with cold detachment, Shinohara looked back at her with a mix of calm, anger, and fear, Eshe suddenly smiled at her and then asked playfully: I wonder, where's your husband? Oh wait, I mean the man you married because you cried at his feet, afraid your family would marry you off to a rich man for money, So you went sobbing to that disgusting, despicable man to save you from your family
Shinohara's eyes widened, Eshe smiled a wide sly smile and titled her head to the right side and added: oh right, His body is under that rubble and debris
She began laughing hysterically—until she felt something hit her cheek, Shinohara had spat on her, her eyes burning with fury, Then, with a voice filled with both rage and exhaustion, Shinohara shouted: Don't you dare speak that way about Shozo!
Eshe gritted her teeth and drove the weapon deeper into Shinohara's leg, making her swallow a scream of pain, In a desperate move, Shinohara threw dirt into Ishi's face, just as Ishi was about to strike again with her hands already transformed into blades , But before she could land the blow, Yasuo stopped her effortlessly, He was kneeling, holding his weapon in his left hand and with his left arm stretched behind him, blocking Eshe's attack without even turning to look at her, His eyes stayed on Shinohara, calm and steady, He gave a small nod, and Shinohara managed a faint, strained smile , Then Yasuo turned and launched an attack on EshE, who barely dodged it by leaping back, The sudden movement yanked the embedded weapon out of Shinohara's leg, causing her to bleed even more, Yasuo didn't press the attack—instead, he scooped Shinohara into his arms and took off running , Just as Eshe turned to flee, she froze in place , Behind her stood Elena, wearing an angry smile and blocking her path, said in a sly voice : Coward, Going after children and the unarmed? Pathetic
Elena attacked her , she threw her weapon on Eshe's direction whose dodged it but Elena was already in front of her , she hold her weapon fastly and stabbed Eshe in her waist who's eyes widen in pain , Eshe was about to hit Elena but Nina shot an arrow in her left , Eshe stopped from the pain and let out a high pitch yell , she start to wail in pain when her voice turn rough and hoarse , Elena stopped and start to look around her and Nina did the same , they can feel eyes on them , Nina felt something coming fastly to her direction so she jumped so fast before her legs get cut , Elena pulled her weapon out of Eshe with effort, her eyes scanning the surroundings with a mix of calm and tension, Eshe was still standing in place, clearly in pain, her earlier howls now silent as she struggled to breathe , With a strained smile, Eshe let out a hysterical laugh—but it cut off just as abruptly as it began, She shifted her left hand into the long, thin, sharp weapon form and lunged at Elena, forcing her into a defensive stance, Elena quickly glanced toward Nina—and saw that she was in a tough spot, barely managing to dodge the relentless attacks coming from between the trees , Suddenly, Eshe raised both her hands and, with chilling calm and seriousness, declared: I surrender. I'm pulling out. This isn't fun at all with you two
She then began retreating slowly — disappearing between the trees, Elena chased after her, but there was no sign of her, and the attack on Nina suddenly ceased, Both sisters were puzzled, They sighed — both of them — and started walking back to the truck, where inside, Issei was tending to Shinohara's injuries, Yanai was crying out, begging her not to fall asleep — tears streaming from both his eyes as he squeezed her hand with all his might and kissed it repeatedly, Yasuji sat in the front seat, where Yasuo tried his best to keep him from seeing Shinohara's condition — the little boy kept asking questions and trying to peek, but Yasuo stopped him every single time, Issei was calm — focused — as he treated Shinohara. Nina lowered her head while Elena looked away into the distance, Yasuo sighed and had Nina sit in the front, placing Yasuji on her lap, Elena stayed in the back, trying to soothe Yanai, who was trembling in her arms, Yasuo started driving — heading toward the headquarters, Shinohara could feel everything around her, but it was distant — voices were muffled, her vision blurry, Yasuo tried to reach the place as fast as possible, but deep inside, he feared that speeding might make things worse, Nina placed her hands over Yasuji's ears and smiled at him as he turned to her, looking up with innocent eyes, He didn't quite understand what was happening — but he was shaking slightly, his face red from crying and fear, Yanai was nestled in Elena's arms — she held him tightly and whispered that everything would be okay, He kept shaking his head back and forth — refusing to believe it, Time seemed to crawl by painfully slow, Yasuo decided to take the longer but safer route — but then, all of a sudden, he floored the gas, Nina's eyes widened beside him, clutching Yasuji tightly, Elena yelled at him to calm down and stop speeding — but he didn't listen, It wasn't until Issei let out a quiet sigh that Yasuo finally started to slow down, He swallowed hard — but Issei didn't move an inch or even take his eyes off Shinohara, He was doing everything he possibly could to save her
They reached the headquarters , Meanwhile, Issei was in the operating room, doing everything he could to save Shinohara, Teiji was running at full speed toward the poisons department, and as soon as he entered, Tsurugi extended her hands, holding two glasses—each filled with different contents, Teiji took them and calmly walked back toward Issei, After what felt like endless hours, Issei finally stepped out of the room and let out a long breath, He gave a nod to everyone who had been waiting outside, Elena and Nina both smiled, Yasuo turned his face away from the others and allowed a small smile to form, Yasuji was asleep beside Yanai in the living room of the residential section, Yanai was curled up, hugging his knees tightly with his face pressed to them, Yasuo walked over and gently ran his hand through Yanai's hair without saying a word, Yanai understood what that meant, and his shoulders loosened slightly, though he remained in place, Yasuo quietly left after making sure others would look after the two children — he had decided to leave, Meanwhile, Irie, Kokichi, and Sawada were deep in discussion, Kokichi spoke up: Is it really safe to let them live here? What if something goes wrong?
Irie responded calmly: It might not seem like it, but the residential section is actually the safest area, Once Sawada finishes repairing the Mother System, that section will become the most efficient of them all, The Mother System is one of the earliest and most powerful devices ever designed — both defensive and offensive
He continued after taking a breath: The base originally started out as just the residential section, but over time it grew into what we see now, Moving the system to the rest of the facility would take much longer, so Sawada will activate it in the residential section first, then try to expand it to the other areas
Kokichi asked in confusion: But why didn't we use it from the beginning?
He didn't know how to answer him—until Sawada spoke up: Something happened in the base that caused it to malfunction, and no one was able to fix it, Or rather, the only person who could… was killed, Many tried to repair it, but no one succeeded, so they started creating other types of protection and devices, But they either break down or simply don't work, Still, I'm going to try and fix this one myself and see the results firsthand
Kokichi nodded silently, then wondered aloud: Is there really a traitor among us?
Irie lowered his head while Sawads burst out laughing calmly in a low voice but didn't say anything, Kokichi sighed, clearly annoyed by Sawada's response, Deciding to leave before he lost his temper again, he stood up—only to find Yasao standing beside the headquarters, holding two bottles of juice in his hand, they both got out and start drinking but never said a word, they both were drinking slowly calmly when they both stopped and sighed at the same time, Yasuo threw his bottle with force, but it hit the edge of the trash can and shattered, Kokichi smirked mockingly and threw his own bottle too—but it didn't even land near the bin and shattered as well, Yasuo gave a sarcastic smile, Kokichi pointed at the two broken bottles and said in a commanding tone: Clean them up.
Then he left without giving Yasuo a chance to argue, Yasuo sighed, went inside the base to fetch the necessary tools, and returned to clean up, While cleaning, he suddenly heard someone laughing at him from behind—it was Elena, He nearly threw the broom at her but hold himself, Elena stopped laughing and, as he was tossing the glass into the trash, she said: What you're doing could tear the bag or injure some creature, It's better if you place the glass inside something else and wrap it in two or three layers of bags before throwing it away, That's what my mother taught me
Yasuo lowered his head and nodded, but he didn't say anything, Elena smiled, pulled out a wooden box, and handed it to him so he could place the glass inside, Then she took out three bags and handed them to him as well, before walking away silently—and he didn't say a word either, A few minutes later, Yasuo entered the base, Yanai was running frantically around the place, eyes wide, drenched in sweat, panting heavily, and visibly shaking, Without hesitation, Yasuo rushed to him, dropped to his knees, and asked in a trembling voice: What's wrong? Is everything okay? What happened?
Yanai answered him with tears streaming down his face while shaking, he stopped speaking to take some air: Yasuji, I can't find him, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to leave him alone for a little bit
Yasuo immediately stood up and said firmly: Stay in the residential area. I'll go look for him. Everything will be alright — I promise
Yasuo immediately began searching throughout the entire base until he finally found Yasuji sitting on the floor next to one of the offices, As Yasuo approached him, his expression shifted into sorrow — it was the office of Yasuji and Yanai's father, Yasuji pointed at the door, where the names of the office owners were displayed, and said with innocent sadness: Papa… that looks like Papa's name. Is Papa here? Is he mad at me?
Yasuo knelt down to Yasuji's level, gently shaking his head from side to side, He hesitated, unsure of what to say to the little boy, then finally spoke in a soft voice: No, Yasuji… your father isn't mad at you, How could he be? He was so happy when he saw you for the first time, He cried—a lot, from happiness. Yasuji, your father loves you so much, He loves both you and Yanai more than anything in the world, You're his whole world… so how could he ever hate you? And Yanai—he loves you deeply too, He might act recklessly sometimes, but it's only because he cares, He's crying right now because he can't find you, So… what do you say we go back to him?
Yasuo carried Yasuji in silence, choosing not to answer the boy's question about their father's place, Meanwhile, inside, Issei was gently applying ointment to Shinohara's body, doing his best not to hurt him, Beside him, Tsurugi was tending to the other survivors, carefully treating their wounds with the same ointment, Issei whispers to her: This is incredible… really, You're able to make these powerful ointments from the remains of their bodies, Flowers… and now these ointments, What else might we discover about them, I wonder?

Everyone gathered around Issei and Tsurugi, watching them as if witnessing a magic show, Once Issei finished treating Shinohara, he began helping the others, As for Tsurugi, she assisted in her own unique way, After finishing her purpose she came for, she decided to leave, She walked calmly until she paused, her eyes quietly observing someone who had just passed by her, She began to follow the person silently, It was a teenage girl who started to grow nervous and quicken her pace, But Tsurugi didn't speed up—she simply continued following her, The girl grew increasingly nervous; no matter how fast she walked, Tsurugi kept closing the distance between them, Then, suddenly, Tsurugi placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, The girl flinched and turned around, her eyes wide open in shock
Tsurugi raised her other hand, causing the girl to flinch, shut her eyes, and lift her hands in fear, But when she opened her eyes, she saw that Tsurugi was holding out an embroidered handkerchief, The girl smiled nervously, took it, thanked her, gave a small bow, and began to walk away, As soon as she brought the handkerchief close to her nose and eyes, she felt a stinging burn, A small sound of pain escaped her lips, and then—suddenly—something sharp pierced her shoulder, Tsurugi had already calmly stabbed her with two needles,The girl collapsed to the ground, screaming, Tsurugi grabbed her by the leg and began dragging her away as others watched with wide eyes and open mouths—some even trembling, But Tsurugi paid no mind to the girl's screams or sobs, nor to her desperate begging,As she neared the poison section, Teiji turned to her with a smile, ready to speak—but stopped immediately and stepped aside, He silently watched as she dragged the girl, his gaze shifting between the girl and Tsurugi, When Tsurugi glanced at him and gestured for him to leave, he nodded and walked away without hesitation, He knew better than to argue with Tsurugi

So, Ninomiya can be literally translated as "Second Shrine" or "Second Palace", It's a real Japanese family name
Kuina (クイナ):

I'd like to clarify somethingو In one of the chapters, I mentioned that the housing department's required keys, but now , it is accessed electronically, The keys were not for the bedrooms or private rooms, rather for the department entrance from the outside, as the department's device wasn't functional at the time, As for the interior, it was accessed through a basic electronic system, and with later modifications, it became the system we see now
