Lin Kuang sped off in his car, following the address on the invitation. The Witch chattered away with Liu Shilin, and occasionally Lin Kuang would banter with the Witch as well, filling the car with lively conversation.
At 7:40 PM, Lin Kuang arrived at the estate right on time. By then, the area outside was already filled with luxury cars—Lamborghinis, Rolls-Royces, Bugattis, Maybachs, and Bentleys. It was a display even more impressive than a car show. Lin Kuang and his two companions had to park about a hundred meters away, as there were no spots left any closer.
Even so, this led to a minor conflict. The trouble came from a Bentley that had arrived at the same time. The driver, displeased that Lin Kuang had taken the spot he wanted, was even more annoyed that it had been snagged by someone in a beat-up Mercedes.
"What's your problem? Didn't you see me turning in?" the Bentley's owner snapped, rolling down his window.
