"What the hell"
The first line comes out of Erick's mouth, and then the police drag him out of the room. "What kind of joke is this? What have I done now?" Erick shouts, but Mark doesn't answer any of his questions. Instead, they just drag him and throw him into the car.
"Why are you shouting so much?" Mark, sitting in the front seat of the car, turns around to look at Erick and says, "You're the main suspect in the Andi's murder case, and you'll have to answer all my questions correctly when we get to the office. Got it?"
"Are you a blind detective? Who does this without any notice? This is force and coercion. You can't even prove what my mistake is, and you're taking me away like this. Have I been bitten by a dog that I'll go back there for dinner? I have nothing to do with the Andi murder case. Did you hear me?"
Mark curls his lips into a smile and says, "That will be clear only after you spill the beans of truth." Mark looks to his right and tells the driver, "Let's go."
As they drive, Erick continues to shout, prompting Mark to put tape over Erick's mouth. "Now babble as much as you can," Mark says, but Erick doesn't stop. He continues with his tape mouth "ummm muuuuu ummumm ummmm...."
Jesse's office,
After a few hours pass, Jesse exits the meeting hall with some staff members following her, carrying files. However, a short distance away, she spots her manager Sumi waiting for her boss.
"Why are you here?" she asks, standing in front of Sumi.
"I called you, but you didn't answer," Sumi replies. "Besides, the marketing department's assistant called me. They needed some old record files, so I had to come."
Sumi's face is filled with a subtle smile, not overly bright, but enough to clearly show that she's happy to be back in the office.
"Oh, go rest now if you're done with work," Jesse said and try to hurriedly dismissing her after noticing Sumi's injured hand.
Sumi stands with her head slightly bowed, looking at her feet.
Noticing this behavior, her boss tries to say something to make Sumi feel better. However, before she can speak, Sumi slowly lifts her head and looks at her boss, asking, "Can you drop me off at your apartment?"
Sumi gestures to her injured hand, indicating it's still not fully healed.
jesse has ever refused such a request. Helping people is one of her favorite things to do. There have been many instances where she's gone out of her way to assist others. This would be a small favor for her, and she'd be happy to help Sumi. Therefore, she immediately replies, 'Okay, let's go.'"
As they drive through the busy road, jesse, who drives the car, tries to focus on the road but can't help sneaking glances at Sumi. The memories of Erick and Sumi's encounters keep bothering her. She wants to ask Sumi about it but hesitates, sensing that Sumi's response might hide something beneath the surface.
Meanwhile, Sumi feels a bit nervous sitting in the passenger seat next to her boss for the first time. Sumi starts to feel at ease and appreciates the consideration.
Sumi's happiness stems from feeling cared for, perhaps realizing she's worthy of others' concern, not just being the one who always looks out for others.
As they arrive at the apartment in the same atmosphere, Sumi's boss notices her injured hand and quickly unbuckles her seatbelt to lean over and unbuckle Sumi's seatbelt. This creates a moment that makes Sumi nervous.
Her heart starts racing, and her ears, face, and cheeks turn bright red. She's unaware of her own reaction, but she can feel her heart pounding intensely. Despite this, she tries to keep her eyes open and her face expressionless.
"Are you okay?" her boss asks, noticing Sumi's reaction. Despite Sumi's efforts to hide it, her face clearly reveals her nervousness. She starts sweating. Without responding to her boss, Sumi quickly opens the car door and steps out.
She doesn't muster the courage to look back. She walks straight to her room with quick steps.
Interrogation room,
Erick was already seated there. Mark just enters the room, carrying a file, which he places on the table between the two chairs.
"This room really likes you, isn't it?" Mark teases Erick, sitting down in the chair across from him.
"Yes, maybe. But you like me the most, Mr. Detective. That's why you're in this room with me... ..... right Now. " Erick adding fuel to the fire again.
"Let's not argue further and get to the point. We've kept you because you were around the area on the day of the incident. Is that true? Speak the truth, don't try to lie. Here, the truth might take time to uncover, but lies are caught in a split second."
Erick says with sarcasm, "That's why I've been in jail for so many years. Your laws are quite different. And these laws make me realize that no matter how close you get to the truth, people only believe what they see."
He continues, "As for that day, I was there because I used to visit a shop with my late wife. I went there that day to eat momos, her favorite. It's been so many years, and I needed to revisit those memories. Did I do something wrong? Will you now assume that I killed Andi because of this?"
"Amazing. I have to admit, I've never seen someone go straight for momos after getting out of jail. Interesting," Mark says, looking at his file for the next question.
"What about love? Have you ever been in love?" Erick asks. However, Mark doesn't consider responding necessary and focuses on the next questions.
But Erick doesn't stay quiet. He continues, "Maybe not. The way you speak suggests you've never experienced it. You should try it once. Trust me, it will Change your life."
Mark slams his hand on the table and says, "Look, Mister, this isn't a place for idle chatter. If you want to talk nonsense, you can do it outside, not here. So, answer my questions directly and accurately."
He continues, "That day, it was very late, and you were still there. The shop owner, whose CCTV caught you, stated that you were waiting for someone who didn't show up. Despite that, you chose to stay in the shop until midnight. Why? The shop owner also mentioned that they wanted to close the shop, but you paid them to stay open. Can I know why?"
"I never said I was waiting for someone. Did I? As far as I remember no , I never said . you can't assume that I was waiting for someone. I just wanted to be there, sitting in the same chair where my wife used to sit."
Mark moves on to the next question." So, I'll have to assume that it's all just a coincidence - the timing of your release from jail, the incident happening on the same day... It's all just a coincidence. Is that what I'm supposed to believe?"
"Your wish," Erick responds nonchalantly.
"I've spoken to some inmates, and their statements paint a different picture. They said that you and Andi had fights every day - over food, bathing, work... You two would often hurt each other in some way. So, am I still supposed to believe that you're not at fault?"
"Yes, I admit we didn't get along, and we always fought. But that doesn't mean I would kill him. I had no intention of killing him, and I never could have. You can't prove that I killed him based on our past conflicts. You're just piling up baseless accusations without any evidence. You have no proof that I'm involved."Erick responds.
"Evidence," Mark says, nodding his head lightly a few times. "Alright, when the evidence comes, don't say it's false then. Just wait till then. Meanwhile, you'll have some company. Our team will monitor your daily activities. Consider this as a gift for your honest answer.... And don't get too clever; you're number one on the prime suspect list."
As soon as Mark stands up, he immediately heads towards the door. Erick stops him after his three steps. Mark turns around and asks, "What is it?"
Erick says "Yeah, don't forget to love."
Mark rolls his eyes and walks out of the room.
