Chapter 778: A Quarantine Like No Other
The door to the villa opened, and Bruno was greeted by a delighted Liu Lili.
Though she was already in her sixties, her excellent self-care made her appear no older than her forties—perhaps even younger than Bruno's own mother, who was just over fifty. She truly embodied grace and elegance in her mature years.
"Mom!" Bruno greeted her respectfully.
Liu Lili smiled warmly and said, "Had a tiring flight? Come in!"
Since accepting Bruno as her son-in-law, Liu Lili's attitude toward him had undergone a complete transformation.
They say that mothers-in-law grow increasingly fond of their sons-in-law, and Liu Lili was the epitome of a doting mother-in-law.
Especially after hearing that Liu Yimei was pregnant and witnessing Bruno immediately fly across continents to visit her daughter, she could see the deep affection this superstar son-in-law had for her child.
Bruno shook his head, "I slept for most of the flight—I'm not tired."

"I've been waiting for you," Liu Yimei murmured, her eyes closed. "Now you're finally here. I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too," Bruno replied earnestly, gazing at her with heartfelt affection. "Yimei, tell me—is what your mom said true?"
He gently turned her to face him, his eyes filled with eager anticipation.
Blushing, Liu Yimei understood Bruno was referring to her pregnancy. Shyly, she nodded.
Bruno was overjoyed. Though Liu Lili had already told him the news, hearing it confirmed by Yimei herself brought him even greater happiness.
In his excitement, he lifted her into his arms and kissed her deeply.
Liu Yimei let out a soft murmur, nestling into Bruno's embrace and responding passionately to his kiss.
Carrying Bruno's child filled her with immense happiness, a joy so profound that she momentarily forgot her mother, Liu Lili, was still in the room.
Realizing the intimate moment unfolding, Liu Lili tactfully left the living room, retreating to her bedroom nearby.

Liu Yimei's unexpected pregnancy had caught Bruno by surprise, but it wasn't entirely unforeseen. Ever since their marriage, he hadn't been particularly careful about contraception with either Vanessa or Liu Yimei, often hoping to have children with both of them.
At 32, both women were at the prime age for childbearing. Bruno knew that waiting too long might mean facing the challenges of high-risk pregnancies.

After chatting for a while, the two moved from the living room to Yimei's bedroom. Seeing how late it was, Bruno said, "I'm sweaty from the flight—going to take a shower. Care to join me?"
Yimei, blushing deeply, closed her eyes without answering.
Chuckling, Bruno didn't press her. He stripped off his clothes and walked into the bathroom, the sound of running water soon filling the room.
A short while later, Bruno emerged, fresh and wrapped in a towel. Tossing the towel aside, he climbed into bed, pulling Yimei into his arms.
Yimei let out a soft gasp as she realized Bruno had come to bed completely bare. Her face turned crimson.
Bruno laughed, pulling her closer. "Yimei…" he murmured, his voice filled with longing.
Yimei wore a pink, silky nightgown—likely something she had changed into while he was showering. Her petite, graceful figure paired with the alluring garment made her irresistible.
"Mhm…" Yimei's reply was barely audible as she nestled into his embrace.
Bruno couldn't stop kissing Liu Yimei, his lips traveling from her cheeks to her soft red lips, and down to her fair neck, teasing her into a state of flustered delight.
"Stop… please…" she panted, her breathy voice carrying a sultry sweetness that made Bruno's heart race.
Feeling a surge of emotion, Bruno's hand slid down her body until it rested gently on her abdomen. He softly murmured, "Yimei?"
"Mhm…" Liu Yimei responded shyly in a soft voice.
"Hehe… we're going to have a baby," Bruno whispered, his voice filled with elation.
Hearing this, Liu Yimei's face turned a bright shade of red, but she could feel the excitement in Bruno's tone. Nodding slightly, she replied tenderly, "Yes… our baby is the fruit of our love. Bruno, I… love you!"
"I love you too!" Bruno's heart swelled at her affectionate words. He leaned in, pressing her down beneath him, showering her with kisses and caresses. Liu Yimei's soft gasps filled the room.
"Yimei… um… since you're pregnant now, is it okay for us to…?" Bruno hesitated, voicing his concern.
Blushing furiously, Liu Yimei buried her face in his chest. Speaking in a voice barely audible, she explained, "Uh… well, my mom went with me to see a doctor this morning. Since it's still early in the pregnancy, we need to be cautious. But… but I asked the doctor, and it should… it should be fine."
By the time she finished, she was thoroughly embarrassed.
Bruno was overjoyed. If the doctor said it was safe, then there was no need to worry. Taking extra care not to exert too much, he treated her tenderly, stopping before things became too intense. The two eventually fell asleep in each other's arms.
Bruno ultimately decided not to bring Liu Yimei back to Manchester. Instead, Vanessa soon flew to the U.S. to join them.
Vanessa wasn't alone; she brought along Bruno's private entourage, including an eight-person security team, a four-person personal training team, and a two-person chef team.
Bruno's security team was recruited through Liu Yimei's connections in China. All members were retired special forces soldiers—four men and four women. Compared to hiring overseas professionals, Bruno trusted the discipline and skills of former Chinese military personnel. After confirming his relationship with Liu Yimei, he had asked her to help him form this team.
With everyone gathered, they flew to the Bahamas, where they transferred to a luxury yacht Bruno had rented. Their destination was Cabbage Cay, the private island Bruno had purchased.
Though the Premier League had announced plans to resume matches in early April, Bruno knew that the league wouldn't realistically restart until late June, giving him a solid three months of free time.
After purchasing Cabbage Cay, Bruno invested an additional $500,000 into renovations, constructing a 500-square-meter luxury villa capable of accommodating 24 guests. The island also featured a five-a-side football pitch, a swimming pool, a hot tub, and other amenities. These facilities allowed Bruno to enjoy a lavish vacation while maintaining his training regime.
According to Bruno's plan, he intended to spend at least the next two months living on the island. This would allow him to avoid the ongoing pandemic and enjoy a well-deserved break.
Located approximately 100 kilometers from Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, Cabbage Cay was much closer to Eleuthera Island, with the narrowest stretch between them being just 350 meters—an easy distance for Bruno to swim.
Bruno had signed an agreement with the Bahamian government, granting him unrestricted access to Eleuthera during his stay on Cabbage Cay.
Eleuthera Island is long and narrow, measuring about 180 kilometers in length and 1–2 kilometers in width, with a total area of approximately 520 square kilometers. It's a popular vacation destination, attracting countless visitors each year.
One of Bruno's favorite activities was snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters surrounding Eleuthera. The abundance of marine life made every dive an exciting adventure, with colorful fish swimming around him in droves. Even as a beginner, Bruno found it thoroughly enjoyable.
In addition, Queen's Highway, which runs the length of Eleuthera Island, provided the perfect setting for his daily morning runs.
Bruno's decision to spend two months on Cabbage Cay had two main objectives:
