Without thinking, Astrid flung herself onto Julian's bed, embracing him tightly. "Oh my goodness, you are awake," she yelled in tears her arms wrapped around him.
"Aww.. hey love that hurts." She heard him mumble and d he weakly lifted a hand to his neck.
Astrid jumped back, her eyes widening in horror.
"Oh my God, Julian, I am so sorry!" she exclaimed, tears of joy and relief streaming down her face.
Julian's eyes flickered open, and he gazed up at Astrid, his expression weak but loving. But he didn't smile, and Astrid's heart sank.
"Julian, I am so sorry," Astrid repeated, taking his hand in hers. "I forgot about your braces and bandages."
Julian's eyes drifted closed, and he took a shallow breath. Astrid's heart skipped a beat as she realized that he was still in a fragile state.
She quickly clicked the button beside his bed alerting the doctor.
The doctor rushed into the room, followed by Julian's mum. Astrid shifted back, giving them space to examine Julian.
