Chapter 284 - Alfonzo’s Betrayal

MHA Universe, Earth, Japan, Musutafu.

*Bang!* *Bang!* *Zap!* *Bang!* *Bang!* *Zap!* *Bang!* *Zap!* *Zap!*

After ordering the food, Tatsuo, Akatsuki, and Sakura made their way up to the gym on the top floor of the Static Shock Hero Agency. And just as Tatsuo expected, as soon as they stepped inside, they found Alfonzo and Rumi flashing around the gym at high-speed exchanging punches and kicks.

"Okay, I've seen Mirko fight before." Akatsuki said as she watched the fight between Alfonzo and Rumi with Tatsuo and Sakura. "And this is about what I'd expect from her. But why is Alfonzo-San fighting like a brawler, too? More importantly, how is he keeping up with her when her [Quirk] enhances her physique?"

"He's stimulating his muscles and all that with electricity." Tatsuo replied casually.

"But shouldn't he be in pain while doing that?" Sakura asked curiously.

"Nah." Tatsuo replied nonchalantly. "His [Quirk] gives him a certain amount of resistance to electricity. So, as long as he doesn't overdo it, he'll be fine. And since he's not breaking the sound barrier right now, he's fine."

Naturally, this only applied to Alfonzo while he's in this world under the identity he inherited when he bought the character background for this [Mission]. In his version of the Fairy Tail Universe, Alfonzo's body was more than powerful enough to handle enough electricity to let him move at nearly ten times the speed of sound.

In fact, if he had to, Alfonzo's body is powerful enough to break the sound barrier several times over in this world, as well. However, while fighting in an enclosed space like his gym, pushing himself that far is more dangerous to the surroundings than to himself, as the sonic boom would damage everything in the gym.

Meanwhile, Alfonzo was momentarily distracted when he realized the three U.A. students had arrived. As a result, he was a split-second too slow to dodge Rumi's incoming attack.

"[Luna Arc]." Rumi called out as she raised her right leg above her head.

*Swish!*

*Zap!*

*Clap!*

In the next instant, Rumi, using all of the superhuman leg strength provided by her [Quirk], [Rabbit], lowered a powerful axe kick aimed at the top of Alfonzo's head.

In that moment, Alfonzo realized that it was a good thing he had been distracted. Because had he not, he would have dodged on instinct. And when that kick landed, there was a good chance that the force behind it would have caused every floor beneath the gym to collapse.

"What the hell is wrong with you, woman!?" Alfonzo shouted as he increased the intensity of the electricity running through is system. A moment later, faster than either Akatsuki or Sakura could follow, he clapped his hands around Rumi's falling ankle, stopping the kick dead in its tracks. "Are you trying to destroy my gym, house, and Hero Agency all at the same time?"

"Hmph! Do you think I would have done that if you would just fight me with all your strength?" Rumi asked huffily while balancing on her left foot. "Instead, the only thing you do is dodge, dodge, and dodge some more! Fight me for real, damn it!"

"Did the mass needed to make those ears get subtracted from your brain when your [Quirk] manifested?" Alfonzo asked in a scathing tone. "If two Heroes as strong as the two of us fought all-out, we would destroy an entire city as big as Musutafu in half a day. And neither of us would even be close to getting tired."

"So what?" Rumi shot back. "I just wanna fight you for real! What's wrong with that?"

"Ugh! Damn it! I'm fucking done with you!" Alfonzo shouted in exasperation. "If you didn't have that phat ass, I wouldn't even bother with you at all."

Instead of getting angry at Alfonzo's rather rude comment, Rumi's angry expression turned into a grin. Then, without even trying to pull her leg out of Alfonzo's grasp, she leaned forward, showing off her impressive flexibility.

"Oh, you like my ass, huh?" Rumi asked in a somewhat seductive tone. "Then, how about this? Fight me for real. And if you do, I'll let you rub it, touch it, squeeze it, and even spank it for five minutes. How's that sound?"

The gym fell silent after Rumi's offer. While Tatsuo had to do his best to not laugh out loud at the predicament Alfonzo found himself in, Akatsuki's and Sakura's jaws dropped when they heard it.

"Let me ask you this again…" Alfonzo said, his tone filled with exasperation. "What the hell is wrong with you, woman?"

"Just answer my question, damn it!" Rumi shouted in irritation, her flirtatious toen completely gone. "Are you gonna fight me for real, or not?"

"I'm not." Alfonzo replied while shaking his head. "We would cause more destruction than any Villains other than that big mother fucker Gigantomachia that broke out those two dipshits Tatsuo and I captured a couple of days ago."

As soon as Alfonzo mentioned Tatsuo, his exasperated expression shifted ever so slightly. At the same time, Tatsuo widened his eyes, a look of pure betrayal shining in his them.

And the reason for that was simple.

Rumi, as soon as she heard Alfonzo mention Tatsuo, had her eyes light up like a pair of torch lights.

"I heard about that." Rumi said excitedly. "A strong Hero in training that could fight Villains like a pro. Yeah, he's definitely got to be strong."

'She's in the wrong series, isn't she?' Tatsuo thought absent-mindedly as his brain buffered from Alfonzo's betrayal. 'I've only seen people's eyes light up like that in History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. No, there's no time to be thinking about such stupid shit. I need to get the hell outta here. No, that won't work, either. With Akatsuki and Sakura here… No, I'll just take them with me. I need to take them home, anyway.'

Just as that thought passed and Tatsuo started moving to grab Akatsuki and Sakura by their shoulders in order to Blink] away with them, Rumi's head snapped in his direction.

"Hey, Kid." Rumi said as her eyes glinted with a predatory light. "You're this guy's cousin, Soramoto Tatsuo, right? Fight me. And make sure to give it all you've got."

"Damn it, I was too slow." Tatsuo grumbled as he lowered his hands to his sides again.

"What was that?" Rumi barked. "Speak up."

"No." Tatsuo replied dryly. "I'm not fighting you. And with my [Quirk], you couldn't force me even if you wanted to."

Judging by the way her smile froze and her eyes widened, Rumi was clearly caught off guard by how cleanly Tatsuo rejected her challenge.

"Um… Aren't you getting uncomfortable, Mirko-San?" Sakura asked meekly. "I mean… With your leg up like that?"

Hearing Sakura's question, Rumi was snapped out of her shock. She then slowly turned her head towards her right leg, which was still grasped between Alfonzo's hands. On top of that, it was clear that Alfonzo was still straining to stop her from slamming it down and destroying the gym's floor.

"Oh, right." Rumi said nonchalantly before pushing off the floor with her left foot, pulling her right leg out of Alfonzo's grip, and backflipping away.

A moment later, Rumi landed gracefully. Then, she dashed towards Tatsuo to pester him into fighting her. Yet, before she could get halfway there, Tatsuo reacted quickly, grabbing Akatsuki and Sakura before [Blinking] behind Tatsuo.

"Stop that battle hungry bunny, Cuzz." Tatsuo ordered. "We both know if she fights me, she's just gonna get frustrated and end up destroying the building."

"Yeah, I can see that." Alfonzo replied with a nod. "But to be honest, stopping her is much harder than it sounds."

"Hey! Are you saying I'd lose to a brat like you?" Rumi asked in an indignant tone while pointing her right index finger at Tatsuo.

"Not necessarily." Tatsuo replied as he let go of Akatsuki and Sakura before spreading his hands to the side and shrugging his shoulders. "But I guarantee, you'll never be able to land a solid hit on me."

Feeling that she was being looked down on by a U.A. student, Rumi growled, sounding like the furthest thing from her [Quirk's] namesake.

*Swish!"

In the next instant, Rumi vanished from where she stood while pushing her speed to its limit. An instant later, she appeared in front of Tatsuo with her fist less than an inch away from his face.

However, instead of knocking Tatsuo flying with a black eye, Rumi stumbled forward in surprise when her fist passed through Tatsuo's face unhindered.

"Kamui, huh?" Alfonzo mused with a grin. "Nice."

"… The hell?" Rumi muttered as she shifted her gaze between her fist and the back of Tatsuo's head. "I know I should have hit him. And he definitely didn't dodge. So, why the hell is he still standing there like nothing happened?"

"Like I said, you'll never be able to land a solid hit on me." Tatsuo replied to Rumi's rhetorical statement. "So, let's not do this, okay?"

"Like hell I can't hit you!" Rumi shouted in annoyance.

"*Sigh* I knew that wouldn't work." Tatsuo muttered in disappointment as he turned around and gently pushed Akatsuki and Sakura away. "Fine… I guess we can do this until you're tired. *Sigh* It's a good thing that I don't' have school tomorrow. I get the feeling we're gonna be here for a while."

*Swish!*

Before Tatsuo's words ended, Rumi charged in once again. However, instead of throwing a punch, this time she put her superhuman leg strength to use, throwing a side kick at Tatsuo's abdomen.

But just like last time, her foot passed straight through Tatsuo, leaving him completely undamaged.

*Shatter!*

Unfortunately, the workout equipment in the gym was not so lucky, as the power behind Rumi's kick caused a shockwave that completely destroyed the squat machine behind him.

Meanwhile, Alfonzo could only stare at the broken workout machine with a twitching eyebrow.

"You know, I didn't really think this through." Alfonzo muttered to himself.

"Yeah, you really should have seen this coming." Akatsuki said as she and Sakura stepped behind Alfonzo. She then turned to Sakura and continued. "Hey, Sakura, can you protect the rest of the stuff in here?"

"Sure." Sakura replied as she activated her [Quirk].

With that, Sakura's shadow expanded, stretching across the floor towards the nearest weight lifting machine. From there, it split once again, connecting to the shadows of all the machines in the gym. Then, once all the machines were connected, the shadows rose up, engulfing all the equipment, before dragging everything into Sakura's [Shadow Space].

"I'll put everything back after they're done." Sakura said softly. "You may have to arrange them a bit, though. Now that their shadows are gone, putting them back exactly where they were will be difficult."

"Phew! The fact that I won't have to replace everything is enough." Alfonzo said in a relieved tone.

Meanwhile, as the three conversed, Rumi continued her assault on Tatsuo. Throwing kicks from all sorts of tricky angles, it was clear she was using nearly everything she had.

Yet, no matter what she did, Rumi could not land an attack on Tatsuo, as all of her kicks simply phased through him.

"I don't' believe I can't it you!" Rumi shouted as she took some distance. "[Luna Rush]!"

With her irritation guiding her, Rumi flashed in front of Tatsuo and threw a flurry of powerful kicks. In fact, her leg pistoned so quickly that it would look like a blur to untrained eyes.

*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*

Even so, all of Rumi's kicks passed through Tatsuo without inflicting damage. Unfortunately, the wall behind Tatsuo was not so lucky, as the shockwaves from Rumi's kicks battered it severely, leaving craters in the sturdy metal walls.

"This move looks a lot like Chun Li's [Lightning Kick].' Tatsuo thought absent-mindedly while studying all of Rumi's moves. 'I wonder if I can implement these moves into my fighting style without her [Quirk].'

"Does that woman have any idea how much it's gonna cost to fix those craters?" Alfonzo groaned.

"I don't think she really cares." Akatsuki pointed out

"Thank you for your astute observation." Alfonzo replied sarcastically.

In response, Akatsuki only shot Alfonzo a smirk that practically screamed: "You brought this on yourself," eliciting another groan from Alfonzo.

"Tatsuo-Kun isn't gonna let this go, either." Sakura added while her eyes stayed focused on Tatsuo's unmoving figure.

"Damn it." Alfonzo muttered while covering his face with his left hand. "That's right. Now on top of having to fix the gym, I'll have to look out for his retaliation, too."

Meanwhile, Rumi finally ended her kick barrage before jumping back while breathing slightly heavier than before. All the while, she glared at Tatsuo who wore an analytical expression the whole time, which to Rumi, looked like he was uninterested, stoking her anger even further.

"Fight back, damn it!" Rumi shouted angrily.

"Fine." Tatsuo said in an exasperated toen. "But this is the only time I'm gonna fight you, got it? Next time, I'm just gonna leave. I don't have the patience for this."

Once again, Rumi growled. Tatsuo paid it no attention, though. Instead, he rushed forward, sliding to a stop in front of Rumi.

In response, Rumi raised her leg and threw a whip kick at Tatsuo's waist. However, just like last time, Rumi's leg phased right threw him before her momentum caused her to spin on her other leg.

*Smack!*

However, before Rumi turned too far, Tatsuo raised his front foot, kicking Rumi on her inner thigh and throwing off her balance. As a result, Rumi, not expecting Tatsuo's swift counterattack, was knocked to the ground.

*Bang!*

A moment later, while laying on her back, Rumi was forced to roll away as Tatsuo's raised foot came down like a battle axe, his heel slamming into the floor where her abdomen was located only a second ago.

"Is that all you can do?" Rumi asked angrily. "Can you fight at all without your [Quirk]?"

However, Tatsuo did not respond to Rumi's taunt. Instead, he [Blinked] right in front of her. However, he was not standing upright. Instead, he was crouched low, his right foot sweeping towards her calves.

Reacting quickly, Rumi hopped over the foot sweep. She was then forced to raise her arms to guard as Tatsuo planted his right foot and pushed off with his left hand, spun on the ball of his right foot, and whipped a kick towards Rumi's torso.

*Bang!*

Tatsuo's kick landed with enough force to send Rumi flying back several yards. However, before she could land and regain her footing, Tatsuo once again [Blinked], appearing behind her. He then wrapped his arms around her waist and threw himself backwards.

*Bang!*

A moment later, Rumi slammed head first into the floor while Tatsuo, just before impact, [Blinked] away again.

"Damn… He just German Suplexed the shit out of her." Alfonzo said in an impressed tone.

"And to make sure he didn't get hurt himself, he [Blinked] away right before impact." Akatsuki added. "That's' pretty smart. I can only imagine how much it would hurt to slam your head into the floor like that."

"Tatsuo-Kun is so cool." Sakura said, sounding like a fan girl.

Alfonzo and Akatsuki pointedly ignored Sakura.

Meanwhile, as Rumi, whose head was spinning after being slammed into the floor, was getting her wits back about her, she noticed that Tatsuo once again appeared in midair.

"People's Elbow!" Tatsuo shouted excitedly as he fell elbow first towards Rumi.

Reacting quickly, Rumi kicked off the floor, flipping back out of the way of Tatsuo's elbow drop. Yet, just before Tatsuo slammed into the floor, he [Blinked] once again, appearing right in front of Rumi in a fighting stance.

Tatsuo then threw a left jab, landing a punch on Rumi's chin. He then stepped in with an elbow strike, snapping Rumi's head to the left. Following that, Tatsuo threw a low kick, his left shin landing on the outside of Rumi's right thigh.

However, thanks to Rumi's powerful legs, this kick did not stagger her like Tatsuo expected. Tatsuo was then forced to bend his back to avoid the rising knee Rumi threw as a counter.

Like that, the match continued with Tatsuo landing a number of strikes on Rumi while she was unable to hit him at all. All the while, Alfonzo, Akatsuki, and Sakura continued to watch.

*Ding!* *Dong!*

About twenty minutes later, Alfonzo's, Akatsuki's, and Sakura's attention were drawn away from the match when the doorbell rang.

"Oh, it looks like the food Tatsuo-Kun ordered is here." Akatsuki said as she looked away from Tatsuo's and Rumi's fight.

"Hmm… Yup." Alfonzo replied as he looked at the door camera with his lPhone. "Well, I'm hungry. You two wanna grab a bite? These two will probably be at it for a while."

"Yeah, I'm kinda hungry, too." Akatsuki replied while rubbing her stomach.

"Shouldn't we stop them for dinner?" Sakura asked.

"Do you really think we can stop them?" Alfonzo asked with a shrug. "Sure, it would probably be easy enough to stop Tatsuo. But Rumi's not gonna stop until she's completely out of steam."

"I guess… You're right." Sakura said while shaking her head. "I guess we should eat. Akatsuki-San and I should probably leave after we eat, anyway. If they're not done by the time we're finished eating, I'll come over tomorrow to put all the equipment back."

"Thanks." Alfonzo replied with a smile before turning to leave the gym.

"Yeah, we still need to go home." Akatsuki added. "So, let's go."

And just like that, the three left the gym, leaving Tatsuo and Rumi to continue their fight. And when Tatsuo noticed this, he could not help throwing a resentful glare in Alfonzo's direction for a split-second before returning his focus to the pissed off bunny.

Unsurprisingly, the fight did not finish by the time Alfonzo, Akatsuki, and Sakura finished eating. So, the two girls went home after bidding their goodbyes. Meanwhile, Alfonzo went to his workshop to work on some Support item orders.

As for Tatsuo and Rumi, their fight did not end until well after three in the morning. Though, it was not because Rumi ran out of gas. In fact, Tatsuo was closer to running out of stamina than Rumi. Instead, it was because Rumi was so frustrated that she rage-quit. She also vowed that she would never fight against Tatsuo again. Though, Tatsuo had no intention of taking those words seriously.
