After breakfast the next morning, Sterling was getting rid of the wires in the basement where a part of it was turned into a lab for Sterling's studies as a chemist. After dealing with the wires, Sterling checked on all the renovations that were made for his labs. When he was about to leave, he bumped into someone. "Ouch...who the..!" The person who was rubbing their forehead in front of him was none other than Drew. "I was wondering where you were?"
"You're not allowed here!"
"Come again!"
"This is my laboratory! No one is allowed to enter unless I deem it safe for entry!"
"Huh? Wait...why do you have a laboratory?"
"I'm studying for a bachelor's in chemistry that I'm doing online which requires a lab...why am I telling you all this? Get out!"
"Calm down, Sterling! I was only looking for the game room. Last time I checked this place was not this big!"
"The game room is still in the basement but on the other side! Please refrain from coming to this part of the basement!" Sterling strictly ordered her to leave him alone.
Drew got annoyed by his behaviour and started to leave. That's when a thought came to Sterling. "Wait!" Drew paused and turned around. "You've been gone for years! Dad only turned the basement into a game room six years ago! How did you know there was a game room here? You weren't here back then."
"Ophelia told me about it!"
"The way you said it means you have actually been here!" Sterling stepped closer to her. Drew started to sweat a little then she used their position as an advantage to close the space between them. Both their chests were pressed against each other.
"Now you want to talk! I'll tell you if you give up!"
"Give up? On what?"
"Taking over the business! Hunter told me everything."
"Just so you know, I don't even know what either of you does for a living. I have no interest in your business. As you can see, I'm loaded enough to take care of my family." Sterling used all his mental strength to step away from the woman in front of him and started moving. "I changed my mind. Keep your secrets to yourself. I will find them on my own. Which is a more interesting way to play the game, right?"
"Game?" Drew was confused. Before she could question anything, Sterling had already left the basement.
'This kid doesn't seem to be a threat. Then why does Dad think he's trying to take over what he and I built? I don't understand. I've been watching everyone in this house. They are genuinely happy with his presence. Sterling has been providing him with all the attention they needs. Sterling and Cerberus had been trying to unfold the mystery behind the supernatural aspect of Cerberus' condition and his connection to Sterling. 'Come find me if you need anything! Be careful there!' Cerberus hopped on the stairs slowly making his way to Hunter's room following the scent.
At the dining table, everyone was ready to dig in. Aliza and Mallory were sitting together. Lisa was sitting next to Drew with Ophelia on her left. Sterling's chair was placed opposite Drew's. The sisters were sitting next to each other. Sterling pulled a chair for Rebecca. "Thanks, Sterling!" She sat down and said, "Hi, guys! I see that Sterling has explained to you about our relationship."
"He did. Rebecca, how does it feel to stab your precious friend by fucking her brother?" Catherine picked up her knife and ran her index finger on the edge.
"Catherine, we're not doing that. You don't have to be tough on her. She's cool!" Brenna nudged her to drop the act. Everyone started eating. Drew looked around the table, and all the lovely ladies and Sterling were eating peacefully. It reminded her of her life before her mother's death. She grinned and looked at Sterling and Rebecca. "So, Rebecca, how does it feel to be in a relationship with a man who's into polygamy?"
It made everyone pause. Drew was trying to create drama among the members so that she could step in and save the day when one of them felt lonely or in need of comfort. Her expertise as a counsellor could get her some alone time with them but she had to stir the pot first.
"Seriously, who starts the conversation like that?" Sterling was annoyed by Drew's presence. He was having a fine couple of days then she had to show up and ruin his plans. Sterling wanted to make his moves on Ophelia. He was distracted by any kind of advances Drew could make on the others.
"I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just wondering. As a matter of fact, I've been in a relationship with two ladies when I was a man." Drew tried to start a conversation. Sterling clenched his fist which was holding a fork. Drew was about to talk about her relationship undertoning her fling with Nora and Keira which led to Sterling's awful childhood growing up. Brenna noticed the anger rising in her brother so she intervened.
"Do we really have to talk about the things you did as a man? You're not the same person anymore, right? Plus, I don't want to hear about my brother's special relationship during lunch."
"Huh? It doesn't make any sense but whatever." Her eyes moved around and landed on the strange couple.
"So, Aliza and Mallory are getting married."
"And you still haven't told me that you're happy for me?" Aliza frowned at her younger sister.
"You've been at each other's throats before I left. I feel like you two have an ulterior motive for getting married." Drew took a bite as Mallory and Aliza looked at each other stammering for words.
"I think it's wonderful that they patched things up after the misunderstanding and it led to this beautiful union." Lisa made her point slightly implying her own history with Sterling. Sterling winked at her.
"You must be, Lisa! Sterling told me about you a lot. I'm glad you accepted his proposition to be his girlfriend." Rebecca spoke.
"I have a question." Catherine put her fork down. "Sterling has many girlfriends. What would they be to Lisa's baby? Will they be called the baby's mothers? Or aunts? Wait...what about Aunt-moms? I just invented a new relationship"
"Catherine, what is wrong with you? You're acting weird." Ophelia asked her daughter.
"What's with Catherine?" Rebecca whispered to Sterling.
"I have a pretty good guess! Let's say she's enjoying the food!" Sterling grinned as Catherine bit her lower lip. Her eyes rolled back into her skull.

"Get to know me, huh!" Drew glanced at her nephew whispering to his girlfriend. 'Something is bugging me. I need to have a chat with him. But he's running away from me every time I get close to him. Maybe I should drop the seduction act and talk to him straight like a former man to man.' Drew finished her plate and put some more on Lisa's.

Half an hour later, Sterling was showing Rebecca around the house. They were checking out the available rooms one by one. "Wow, I still can't believe how you pulled it off. You already have beds set up even in the empty rooms." Rebecca sat on a bed feeling its comfort.
"You don't realise how much you need it until you do!" Sterling sat next to her and wrapped his arm around her. "How do you like this room?"
"The bed is huge though!"
"You know why it's huge so don't ask questions you already know the answers to!"
"Sterling, I can't live here. Not until I get a job. My parents will ask questions about it!"
"I'm not pressuring you. I'll wait for you!"
The door opened as Cerberus entered pushing the door with his head. "There you are! I was wondering where you ran off to!" Cerberus ran towards Rebecca and hopped onto her thighs licking her neck at the same time.
'Anything to report?'
[Nothing unusual! His room is clean but the air is strange.]
'I'll look into that!'
Rebecca caressed Cerberus's head and started her questions. "So, Brenna and Catherine earlier, can you explain it to me?"

"Rebecca, listen! There's something about my bloodline that you should know!" Sterling started explaining about the strange vial he found in Hunter's room and the fact that he and his blood relatives were immune to imperfections caused by inbreeding. "...and I even verified it with my doctor!"
"Is that what you were researching?"
"That and something else for our maid!"
"Tiffany?"
"Just Tiff! She's doing some research and I'm helping her with my chemistry knowledge."

Sterling stood up and walked around the room. "I don't want her to know until the baby comes out!"

"It's just...I don't think it's appropriate for her to digest news this big during her pregnancy."

"We are only at the beginning of our relationship so I don't feel comfortable talking about it! Plus, we already have Cerberus so..." Rebecca removed her top and tossed it. "Now, come give me what I was promised!"
