Chapter 270 - Chapter 270: 1-A 1-B Teamwork

[Third Person POV]

The next morning, Melissa looked positively radiant, striding into the forest training grounds as if she'd just stepped out of a commercial for luxury skincare. Her golden hair glistened in the sunlight, her cheeks practically glowing, and her skin reflected the rays with a glossy shine that made her look more refreshed than anyone had a right to be after a grueling summer camp day.

Every girl in Class 1-A turned toward her at once. Their eyes narrowed. A hush swept through the group, and then, as though on cue, half of them flushed red.

Melissa blinked, taken aback by the sudden attention. "What? Why are you all staring at me like that?" she asked innocently.

Momo let out a long-suffering sigh, crossing her arms as she shook her head. "You need some serious help."

Melissa's blue eyes widened in indignation. "Huh? What did I do?! I didn't even say or do anything. I've been pretty tame today!"

"You just…" Momo trailed off, searching for the right words, then finally gestured vaguely at Melissa. "You just look a little too pleased with yourself. It's obvious what happened. You're basically rubbing it in all of our faces."

Melissa's mouth dropped open in disbelief. "Wha—I can't be happy now? Me being happy is a crime suddenly?!" She threw her hands in the air. "I was literally just being myself!"

Momo stepped forward and gave her shoulder a sympathetic pat, her lips pressed into a tight, knowing line. "Maybe that's the problem."

Melissa's cheeks puffed up as she pouted. "Now you're just being mean to me for no reason!"

Before the debate could escalate further, a dry, monotone voice cut across the clearing.

"Alright, everyone, settle down."

All chatter ceased instantly as Aizawa stepped into view, his scarf hanging lazily around his neck. His hair was as messy as ever, but his half-lidded eyes carried the kind of weight that demanded attention. He surveyed the gathered students with a tired expression, "Today is going to be a little different than yesterday," he said, hands shoved in his pockets.

The students turned as one when they noticed the figure standing beside him.

Baymax.

The inflatable healthcare robot stood perfectly still, his large, round eyes blinking slowly. His soft, white body looked harmless—almost comical. Class 1-B, gathered on the opposite side of the training grounds, leaned forward curiously.

"Thanks to Tony's… contribution," Aizawa continued, "today's focus will be Quirk combat experience. You will all participate in a mock battle against Baymax here."

A murmur rippled through the crowd. Faces fell. Confusion set in.

There was only one Baymax. And more than forty students.

The protests were already bubbling up when Aizawa cut them off, his voice raising just enough to silence the group. "Don't worry. Tony has programmed Baymax to be capable of engaging a large group simultaneously. This is deliberate. You all need to learn how to fight as a coordinated unit. When to jump in, when to hold back, and most importantly, how not to get in each other's way."

He swept his tired eyes across the gathering of both classes. "This exercise will also serve as an opportunity for you to build cooperation between 1-A and 1-B. Consider it a test of not only strength, but teamwork."

Several students exchanged uneasy glances. Bakugo clicked his tongue in annoyance, electricity crackled faintly off Kaminari's hands, and Monoma from 1-B smirked smugly as though already planning to show up his rivals.

Aizawa gave a final nod toward Tony.

Tony smirked and everyone suddenly gained a bad feeling at the pit of their stomachs. "Baymax," he ordered, his voice carrying across the training field, "insta-kill mode."

Every pair of eyes widened instantly.

Baymax's friendly, blinking eyes narrowed, glowing red as the air around him hummed with energy. His stance shifted from harmlessly neutral to unnervingly precise, mechanical whirrs echoing as his arms locked into position.

The forest training grounds suddenly felt far less safe.

Baymax's eyes glowed a menacing crimson. Before anyone had time to react, his massive white body moved with shocking speed. One hand shot out like a piston, smacking Iida from Class 1A square in the chest while the other fist simultaneously cracked into Kendo from Class 1B. Both students were launched backward like ragdolls, tumbling across the dirt until they skidded to a stop groaning.

The sudden, devastating double strike set off a chain reaction.

"Everyone get him!!" Kirishima roared, hardening his skin as he charged forward. Yaoyorozu summoned a steel staff, while Shoji extended his arms to grapple Baymax. Class 1B wasn't far behind—Monoma and Tetsutetsu yelling as they tried to coordinate with 1A for the first time in their lives.

Baymax didn't flinch.

With a single step he planted his feet, letting Shoji's six arms wrap around him—only to flex outward, inflating slightly, and blow the boy away with brute force. A hardened Kirishima and Tetsutetsu charged from opposite sides, but Baymax simply grabbed them both by their heads and smashed them together like cymbals before tossing them aside.

"Don't let up!!" Kaminari shouted, sending arcs of electricity crackling into Baymax. The inflatable robot merely absorbed the surge, then retaliated with a palm strike that blasted Kaminari into Ashido, sending the pair rolling.

Tony folded his arms, expression flat as he stood next to Melissa. "This going to be so fun to watch, I should have definitely brought more but oh well maybe next time."

Melissa grinned faintly, too entertained to feel pity.

Bakugo's explosions lit the clearing, Todoroki's ice spikes surged upward to trap Baymax's feet, and even Class 1B's Pony tried to pop Baymax by shooting her horns at him. None of it worked. Baymax bulldozed forward, shrugging off ice and flame, adapting to every tactic.

At one point, Todoroki raised a hand and sharp, jagged spears of ice erupted from the ground, racing toward Baymax. Everyone thought that would finally land a hit—until Baymax casually reached over, seized Tetsutetsu mid-charge, and swung him like a metal baseball bat. The steel-bodied boy clanged through every spear, shattering them one after another before Baymax let him crash into the dirt.

"HEY!! Use me like a weapon again and I'll—!" Tetsutetsu sputtered before Baymax stomped down near his head, silencing him instantly.

The battlefield devolved into pure chaos. Dozens of quirks fired off in rapid succession—ice, fire, vines, acid, wind blasts, explosions—all converging on Baymax. Yet the big white marshmallow plowed through, sending students flying left and right. His body bent, inflated, compressed, and expanded unnaturally, making him impossible to restrain.

By the time the dust settled, students from both classes were scattered across the training ground in varying states of defeat, groaning and twitching on the ground. Baymax remained perfectly upright, eyes still glowing red, waiting for his next command.

Only Tony and Melissa remained untouched as they didn't even bother to participate.

Melissa clapped her hands together, cheeks pink with excitement. "That was amazing! He took them all on by himself!"

Tony smirked, turning to Aizawa. "Told you. One Baymax is more than enough. And you were doubting my expertise, shame on you"

Aizawa only rolled his eyes before he said, "Join in, just because he's your creation doesn't mean you get to slack off"

Tony pouted as he said, "You're just being petty"
