Chapter 228 - Chapter 228: Enhancing U.A (2)

[Third Person's PoV]

"All right then, let's begin," Tony said, his voice calm but laced with excitement as liquid metal began to pool and swirl at his feet. The metal rippled with life, responding to his mere thought. He turned to Momo and handed her a small cylindrical container with glowing accents. "When I give you the signal, release them."

Momo nodded, her expression focused and resolute. She accepted the container with care, holding it tightly in both hands before gently lowering it to the ground. With one knee bent, she knelt beside it like a knight preparing to unsheathe a powerful relic.

Tony hovered a few feet off the ground with a low hum as his thrusters emitted a soft blue glow. Streams of liquid metal snaked up his arms and condensed around his hands. A sleek scanner unfolded from the repulsor embedded in his palm, flickering to life. As it surged upward in a thin beam, a large, detailed hologram flickered into view around them. It displayed a full architectural layout of U.A. High, accompanied by animated projections of proposed upgrades: defense grids, reinforced walls, automated training zones, and even structures of dormitories.

With a focused expression, Tony began to circle the building mid-air, arms extended outward as he rotated slowly. Wherever his repulsors pointed, the holographic image became sharper, more intricate, until the entire upgrade schematic intertwined with the school like a blueprint drawn in light.

"Alright, Momo! Release the hounds!" Tony called out dramatically, grinning beneath his helmet.

Momo couldn't help but smile at his theatricality. She carefully opened the container, and instantly, a shimmering wave of red and gold nanotechnology surged outward. The particles danced like a living tide, racing across the ground and spreading in every direction. They followed Tony's mental commands instinctively, drawn toward the school.

The nanites swarmed toward the structure, scaling walls, crawling over concrete, and seeping into crevices. They poured beneath everyone's feet, spreading toward the surrounding security barriers. Present Mic and Midnight both instinctively lifted a foot, staring as the swarm flowed past like a living organism.

Tiny mechanical bots integrated themselves into the walls, snapping into place and linking together with fluid precision. It was a mesmerizing sight—thousands of nanites forming lattices, replicating themselves, and beginning construction at the molecular level.

"They're… slower than I expected," Midnight observed curiously.

The swarm crept up the side of the towering, H-shaped building that was U.A., weaving its way upward. The speed wasn't exactly blistering—it was methodical, slow. Present Mic tilted his head and called out, "Didn't you say this process would only take a couple of minutes? At this rate it could take hours"

Tony, now floating above them, waved lazily and replied with a smirk, "Patience, my loudmouthed professor… greatness takes time."

He turned toward Melissa. "Alright, Melissa, you know what to do."

"Oh yeah! I thought you'd never ask!" Melissa replied with gleeful energy. A stream of silvery liquid metal poured to her waiting hand, forming into her signature hammer with a smooth metallic clang.

With a confident grin, Melissa began to spin her mallet rapidly. Sparks crackled as it gained speed, forming a glowing vortex of blue electricity. The rotation intensified until arcs of lightning jumped from the spinning head, striking the ground with whip-like cracks and pulsing energy.

"Alright, are we absolutely certain those two don't have any quirks?" Vlad King muttered, arms crossed. "This is just unfair. You're hoarding talent, Eraserhead. I should've fought harder to get at least one of them into my class."

"You snooze, you lose," Aizawa replied dryly, not even bothering to hide the smug undertone in his voice.

The staff looked on as Melissa approached the main entry doors, her hammer spinning like a turbine. She suddenly stopped the motion by gripping the handle with both hands. The hammer glowed with stored energy, pulsing brightly with electric power.

"Eat up! Let's get those juices flowing!" Melissa shouted with exuberance.

With a powerful swing, she brought the hammer down against the nanite-covered main door. The impact released a surge of energy that crackled through the metal like a bolt of divine lightning. The nanites lit up, glowing an intense red and gold as the stored energy supercharged them.

Now fully energized, the nanites kicked into overdrive. They replicated with breathtaking speed—seconds became milliseconds. Within moments, the building shimmered under a new layer of fortified armor, sleek but nearly indistinguishable from the original structure. The swarm spread outward, forming new wings, defensive towers, and even constructing a separate training facility built to withstand—and recover from—extreme Quirk-based destruction.

Just as Tony had predicted, the entire transformation concluded in mere minutes. The holographic blueprint faded as the real structure took its place—practical, resilient, and beautiful in its own futuristic way.

Tony gently descended back to the ground, landing beside the other teachers. The last wave of nanites settled into place, morphing into what appeared to be normal steel, glass, and concrete. No signs of the transformation remained, save for the astonished looks plastered on everyone's faces.

"Shall we do a little demonstration?" Tony asked with a playful gleam in his eye. He thrived on these moments—when science felt like magic.

"Yes, please," Nezu replied with a nod, eyes wide with wonder.

Tony clapped his hands together. "Melissa, if you will—por favor."

"With pleasure!" Melissa exclaimed. She let out a battle cry—"HIYA!"—and swung her hammer full-force into the side of the building.

CLANG!

The sound echoed like a cathedral bell. The wall didn't crack. It didn't bend. It simply absorbed the impact and stood tall, unfazed.

"That strike," Tony said, adopting his best showman tone, "would have torn straight through the old U.A. building. As you can see, this new version can handle some serious punishment."

Vlad King whistled low. Present Mic let out an impressed laugh. Midnight nodded slowly. Nezu simply clapped.

Seeing the impressed looks on the teachers' faces, Tony grinned wider. "Melissa, if you will," he said with a flourish.

"With pleasure!" Melissa replied, raising her hammer high above her head. This time, she swung with everything she had—her full strength behind the blow. The hammer smashed into the building with a thunderous CRACK, louder than thunder, sending a shockwave that echoed across the campus.

The sheer force of the impact made everyone flinch. A few of the teachers instinctively covered their ears as the ringing assaulted their senses. A massive chunk of the building's side exploded outward, fragments spinning into the air before crashing to the ground in a glittering rain of metal and stone.

But even before the dust could settle, the scattered nanites twitched and shimmered. They began slithering back toward the damaged wall, crawling and magnetizing together like swarms of insects returning home. In mere seconds, the chunked-out section began to rebuild itself—layer by layer, beam by beam. Nanites even generated a few reinforcements to strengthen the structure further, sealing cracks with seamless precision. Within a minute, the building looked completely untouched—as though nothing had ever happened.

"These buildings are self-generating," Tony announced proudly, folding his arms as he looked around at the stunned teachers. "So go ahead—abuse them as much as you like. Smash, burn, blast—it'll bounce right back. You won't have to worry about long-term repair costs... just the upfront cost, which, let's be honest, is a small price to pay for immortality in architecture." He gave a gleeful, mischievous cackle, practically seeing dollar signs floating in the air.

Nezu gave an awkward chuckle, adjusting his little bowtie. "Please… have mercy…"

Tony puffed out his chest and gave a mock heroic pose. "Mercy doesn't fill out my bank account, Principal Nezu…"

"Next up," Tony said, clapping his hands again. "Defensive shielding!"

At his signal, a massive shimmer passed over the campus. A transparent dome rapidly expanded outward, covering the entire area like a second sky. It was so massive and clear that it almost looked like a mirage. The teachers looked up in awe as the protective bubble shimmered with faint, hexagonal patterns under the sunlight.

"That bad boy," Tony said, pointing upward, "can take an absolute beating. And here's the kicker: instead of growing weaker, it actually stores the kinetic and energy impacts and uses them to grow stronger. Say hello to adaptive shielding."

"Melissa~" Tony called with a singsong tone.

"Unleash the powerrrr!" Melissa shouted dramatically. She launched herself into the air, her hammer already glowing with built-up energy. With a twist of her body, she flung a storm of electricity at the dome, her lightning crackling like a tempest unleashed. Each strike struck the shield in a cascade of sparks—but instead of breaking, the shield flared brighter and brighter with each impact, absorbing the power like fuel.

The others could only stare in astonishment as the dome glowed like a rising star, empowered by the very thing meant to destroy it.

Then, with another clap of his hands, Tony deactivated the shield. The dome collapsed inwards and vanished with a low hum, leaving no trace behind.

"Now for the fun stuff—offensive capabilities," he said, and the ground rumbled slightly as the nanites stirred again. This time, they crawled up the perimeter walls, coalescing into sleek, angular forms. High-tech laser cannons, plasma turrets, and missile pods unfolded from hidden compartments. The weapons spun once, locked in place, and crackled to life with a low energy hum, glowing ominously as they awaited commands.

"These beauties are connected to a threat analysis AI. If someone attacks the school—Quirk, tech, mutant, alien, whatever—it'll respond appropriately. But don't worry," he added, glancing toward Aizawa, "it won't activate on students unless you really mess with the settings."

He gestured broadly to the now-transformed school. "There's more, of course. I'll send you the full manual—how to activate hidden features, trigger emergency protocols, and run diagnostics. But as promised, here it is: a high-tech, self-sustaining, auto-repairing, combat-ready fortress. U.A. 2.0."

Nezu gazed out across the transformed campus in awe. The school now stood as a marvel of technology. But when he turned to thank Tony, he froze. The inventor was looking at him with an eerily calm, businesslike smile.

Tony's hands were rubbing together slowly, the way a banker might before discussing interest rates. "Now then," he said in a voice smooth as butter, "before I hand over control of this beautiful fortress... let's talk price."

Nezu's nose twitched, and his whiskers drooped slightly. A nervous chuckle escaped him. "Please... have mercy, Mr. Stark."

"Mercy won't keep my lights on, Principal Nezu…" Tony said, his grin stretching wide. His eyes remained closed, but the sheer intensity of his business face was chilling.
