'Listen to your heart?'
Li Yun closed his eyes and concentrated, forgetting about the situation he was in, forgetting everything around him.
Only the rhythmic beating of his heart filled the silence.
'What does my heart desire? What does it seek?'
He questioned himself again, but still, there was no answer.
'Is it pity for the weak?'
No.
'Is it to help the weak?'
No.
'Is it to show kindness and compassion to the enemy?'
No.
'No, what my heart desires... is nothing but freedom of choice. What I desire is simply me.'
It wasn't about being merciful, or cruel, or strong, or weak. It was about freedom. Freedom to decide anything, to shape his life and his future based on his own will.
And in that moment, Li Yun felt lighter, freer than he had ever been. His heart had spoken, and now, he understood it. He wasn't bound by anyone's path or their life. He was his own destiny and what he would do from now on would become his path.
