After the ceremony, they held a modest banquet. There were not many people invited, so they could talk to all of them.

Nathan remembered the past where his father used to beat him, the time when he feared for his life, the moment his stomach growled for not being able to eat, the pain in his stomach for trying to eat all kinds of food that might already have expired, the neglect of his mother, or even the time he ran away from his home.
All of them had become distant memories.
