Nathan and Alavenya stood in the middle of the field outside the city. There were no trees that Nathan could take advantage of in the area, just a plain flat field. This terrain alone would give Alavenya an upper hand, but a confident smile was still apparent on Nathan's face.
Nathan smiled. "Have you prepared to lose?"
"I should be asking you that question." Alavenya shook her head. "This is my domain, not yours."
"In that case, let's see how confident you are…" Nathan raised one finger. "How about a little bet?"
"Bet? Don't we already have one? If I win, you will be mine. If you win, I will be yours." Alavenya narrowed her eyes.
"Yes. And that's exactly what I'm thinking. The bet is… If I win, you'll be the first one to say 'I love you,' and vice versa."
"!!!" Alavenya widened her eyes in surprise. "Are you sure? You can't take advantage of any trees now. Your specialty is taking advantage of terrain to overwhelm your enemy. In this field, you can't do that."
