Chapter 655 - Chapter 655: Ōtsutsuki Kaguya

With Toneri leading the way, Carl quickly reached the interior of the moon.

Compared to the outside, this place was like an entirely different world—at the very least, there was vegetation here.

Toneri didn't speak a single word the entire time, until they finally arrived at the sealing grounds.

From a distance, this place looked like an ordinary stretch of flat land. But once they got closer, the enormous sealing pattern on the ground became visible.

It was a diagram of six black tomoe encircling a swirling vortex at the center.

Carl narrowed his eyes, studying the seal for a moment. Then he turned toward Toneri beside him and asked,

"If someone directly destroyed the moon, would this seal automatically break?"

Toneri shook his head.

"No. The sealed space is independent. Even without the moon as its vessel, it still exists. And it would reattach itself to surrounding matter and form a new moon."

Carl clicked his tongue at that.

"What an annoyingly troublesome sealing technique."

Finishing those words, Carl stepped directly into the center of the seal. He dropped to one knee and pressed a hand against it.

In the next second, the black patterns on the ground squirmed like living black serpents, while a bottomless surge of chakra erupted from Carl's body.

Sensing that chakra, Toneri—who had been expressionless the whole time—could no longer maintain his calm. Shock flooded across his face.

This chakra was far too terrifying. Even after merging with the massive Tenseigan, he still couldn't hope to match it.

Twelve pitch-black Truth-Seeking Orbs drifted up behind Carl, each igniting with black flames. His long cloak billowed violently in the wind, crackling sharply.

The seal left behind by the brothers Hagoromo and Hamura, preserved for hundreds of years, finally began to loosen.

As the seal weakened, two powerful auras surged upward from beneath the earth. Toneri froze again—one of these auras definitely belonged to Ōtsutsuki Kaguya. And the other… must be the woman Carl spoke of.

His woman actually possessed such tremendous power?!

At the center of the storm, Carl's lips curved into a smile. He murmured softly,

"Well? I didn't make you wait too long, did I?"

A slightly pouty yet tender voice echoed beside his ear.

"Hmph. What, are you trying to earn praise from me?"

Carl rolled his eyes and continued his work. With the strength of the Six Paths level empowering him, his chakra seeped into the seal below. Combined with the sealing knowledge he had just acquired, he dismantled the seal with steady precision.

Time flowed on—minute by minute—until suddenly, a piercing roar erupted across the moon's surface. A massive figure surged upward from beneath Carl's feet.

Carl didn't look the least bit surprised. He glanced down at the ugly "creature."

Its true name was the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path—the hollow husk of the Ten-Tails with its chakra stripped away.

To Carl, something like this held no value whatsoever. He stood atop the statue's head, his Tenseigan shining through the rising clouds of dust.

Toneri had already retreated to a relatively safe distance. His expression remained grave as he sensed the situation ahead.

The smoke in the area gradually thinned, and two floating silhouettes became increasingly clear.

Carl narrowed his gaze. A dazzling white light burst from him, instantly dispersing the rest of the dust and revealing the two figures fully.

They were two breathtakingly beautiful women, floating in the air hand-in-hand.

Carl, with his Tenseigan, hadn't been obstructed by the smoke from the start. He had already seen the two of them, but even he hadn't expected them to appear like affectionate sisters. So he cleared the smoke to confirm.

The two women were, of course, Lily and Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.

Kaguya looked exactly as she did in the anime—an elegant white robe, long gray-white hair, and a flawless, ethereal face.

Carl raised a brow. He floated toward them and, noticing their clasped hands, asked curiously,

"What's going on between you two?"

Lily smiled softly. Instead of responding to Carl, she turned to Kaguya and said,

"See? I told you he'd get us out."

Kaguya's lips twitched as she attempted a smile. Perhaps because she hadn't smiled in ages, the expression looked a bit stiff.

Then she turned her head, her gaze filled with curiosity as she studied Carl.

Being examined so thoroughly made Carl a little uncomfortable. He cleared his throat and shot Lily a mock-fierce glare.

"Oh? A few days apart and you already dare ignore me? Looks like I need to remind you exactly what a husband's authority means."

He reached toward her waist. Lily's cheeks flushed bright red as she twisted away, dragging a dazed and clueless Kaguya with her.

Hovering at a distance, Carl watched her with narrowed eyes. Lily pursed her lips and whispered,

"Look at the timing… this isn't just the two of us…"

Carl chuckled, lowering his arms.

"So? What's the story between you and Kaguya? Are you two relatives or what?"

Hearing her own name, Kaguya blinked and looked toward Lily. Lily patted Kaguya's hand lightly and said,

"Relatives? Who knows. But you—saying 'Kaguya' so intimately. You sound awfully familiar with her."

Carl shrugged.

"She's a legendary figure down in the shinobi world—the Rabbit Goddess. Ever heard the title?"

Lily froze. She immediately turned to Kaguya.

"Kaguya, you have such a beautiful title? Why didn't you tell me?"

A faint blush rose on Kaguya's pale cheeks.

"That was a name humans gave me. It's not important."

Her voice sounded a bit weak—perhaps from being sealed for so long.

Just listening to her voice, it was hard to imagine that this pale, ethereal beauty was capable of wiping out the entire shinobi world.

And yet, here stood not one—but three beings capable of such a thing.

Carl laughed lightly and teased,

"Lily, look. She ruled a world, and she still got a goddess title. What about you?"

Lily snorted disdainfully.

"Hmph! I have no interest in being called a goddess."

Kaguya quietly tugged Lily's hand, as if expressing agreement.
