Chapter 234 - 234 - Guided relief

*

Sariel arrived where they had congregated. About a few zones away from the battle field. The battle was reaching a climax, long did the nearest zones turned to ash under the intense duress borne of strength. Each clash of their blades formed a ravine at minimum, sending civilisation into the depths of the earth under highly crushing pressure.

At the centre of those impacts, any obstacle in the way turned to dust. That was the lucky outcome for those areas. For the collisions that didn't wander far enough to cleave into the land, the sheer violence recreated overwhelming fireballs that swallowed many streets at once, and subsequently unleashed floods of shock waves that mowed every building down.

By the time Sariel had come close, there were numerous streaks of abyss crawling over cities, massive town sized craters of burnt soot. The luckiest most intact buildings were those that shattered and collapsed from incidental shockwaves, leaving a heap of debris on ground level.

"From what it looks like, will your friend kill the heavenly king? She's already stronger than quite a few of us." (Taneda)

Naturally they have their own pride. Would they leave Lastia to die because of it? The sentinels that have protected humanity for centuries or millenia.

" Are you leaving her to fend for herself? " (Sariel)

Her aura flared, she had expended quite a bit of magic. She wasn't like Lastia who could recover faster than she spent, a sheer abnormality among abnormalities. A being sculpted for violence, she wasn't. But she needed to stand her ground, gauge her enemies, and tighten her resolve. If no one were to help, she would. Even against a superior enemy, if she utilised her Oblivion Magia she might win. Just like with {Nerve}. There was always a solution.

"... No, there's a way we could help. But she'll have to finish the fight on her own. Or you could help her.

You've sensed it right, the effects of the primordial sky? The milk that sustained the universe's birth? The Heavenly King has reverted everyone before the time of civilisation, unbirthing them. " (Taneda)

Her pupils constricted in response as she took in the information. However, tempered by battle she was unable to lose her composure. Instead of lamenting the cause, her next step was always to think of a solution. Especially when Taneda was suggesting that she already had a solution.

"... Everyone... I'm assuming it's for those with no magic resistance, as long as you weren't a magical girl... Your existence will be reverted into non-existence...

You're saying you'll focus on that while Lastia has to finish the fight? "(Sariel)

This time another sentinel took over, another girl she was familiar with. They had only met two sentinels after all. She had a dirty shade of blond, an identical cloak, and a sharp gaze that contrasted her demure attire. Under the textureless cloak of evershifting colours was a prim combat dress full of frills and embroidery.

"We will draw the formation with our Oblivion Magias, instead of pulling an enemy into a sub dimension we'll be painting our magic over the world.

It's a last ditch effort reserved for cases like this, when Eterna's universal suppression is no longer in effect. " (Christine)

" You've fought us before, you should know her ability. "(Taneda)

Mulling over her memories, a puzzled look surfaced as Sariel's brows furrowed.

" You... I thought your ability only worked on other mediums... " (Sariel)

A sly smile took hold in reply. In that moment, no one looked more reliable.

"There's less of a conceptual boost now... But that's where the other sentinels come in. What you guys need is time right? Leave it to us." (Christine)

They turned their gaze to Lastia in the distance, moving at speeds approaching unobservable. Her thoughts slow to a crawl, she could nearly see the beads of her sweat floating gently across the air as she craned her neck around. There wasn't anymore time, she needed courage. She roared as loudly as she can to catch Lastia's attention.

" look, there's still hope. It wasn't all futile." (Sariel)

For a moment she saw the familiar figure turned over her face, it was for so miniscule a period that she could have blinked and missed it. However, she had faith in her comrade. The circle lights up at once, and Christine's magic takes hold over the world.

The fight finishes up in the suspended world, the milky sky vanishes, but the effects of {Cocytus} linger. They'll take awhile to reverse the unbirthing of humanity.

Yggdrasil looked over after releasing the hug. Aster Keliuvinia, nascent heavenly king. The pressure she unleashed was unfathomable, even Yggdrasil could feel her body tense up on sight.

A refreshing smile, violent gaze pierces deeply into Yggdrasil's soul. She sees through everything, fate, destiny, the flow of this world itself. What came before, after, what can happen and what will happen. Blazing red hair glimmering like rubies, sparkling like stardust waves and bobs in the collapsed space of this reality.

Two horns sprout out of her forehead, unimpeded by her bangs. Slim supple fingers dance in the air, parting any and all before its path. It grasps calmly onto something unseen, the earth shakes and her weapon materialises. Pitch black, a blade of void. Utilizing the concept of motion, she carves out a katana in this universe. It has not quite transcended time and space yet, unlike an Oblivion Magia. Though that seemed to be easily remedied if she deployed her own Oblivion Magia. The possibilities of magic are endless, therefore the number of enemies in this world are endless.

This was the moment Vinia waited for, she only made her presence known now because there were no longer any threats to her existence. Ledaine was finished, Yggdrasil was weakened. Whoever survived would be picked off by Vinia. It was exceedingly simple. Pointing her katana forward, black tendrils extended into the air and shot at every direction, twisting and turning like ever expanding drills.

Mustering {Feed} energy, Yggdrasil shot forward with her own floating stakes, using sheer quantity to wear down those tendrils. Dark red and pitch black collide into a chain of explosions, wreaking further havoc onto this world. Due to Ledaine's defeat, the normal people would come back. Though the houses will remain destroyed and the ravines will remain. The earth has been scarred. She's not sure how the humans will return, or how much time she has to remedy the housing situation.

Though, clearly now there was a far more pressing issue.
