Chapter 3 - WINTER❄️ BLOSSOM

**MELODY'S POV**

I looked up and saw the literal cause of my suffering. I looked into the smiling face before me, the perfectly crafted person before me, and I felt bile rise to my throat.

"Leon, go leave me alone. You have done enough," I said.

"Well, I—"

I cut him off before he could even speak.

"Just go away. I don't even want to hear your voice," I added.

He looked me straight in the eyes and sat next to me.

"Can you not hear me? I said leave!" I shouted, now irritated.

"Ssshhh, it's okay," he said, patting me on the head as if I were a child.

"Don't f****** touch me!" I shouted as I got up in a hurry, but his arms were clenching onto me. I barely moved an inch.

F***, he is strong.

"Let. Go. Of. Me!" I shouted with all the strength I could muster.

And I watched him chuckle.

"Tsk, what are you laughing about, idiot!!! (Baka!!!)" I said, clicking my tongue, annoyed that he was happy enough to chuckle.

"What!! Now I can't even laugh in your presence!!" he said with a fake expression of hurt, laughing even more.

"How annoying," I whispered, frustrated, and even more annoyed that he was still holding onto me, his chest pressing tightly against mine, feeling his heartbeat and even the slightest movement of his muscles.

I felt my own heart beating faster, my blood boiling with anticipation. I wanted to hold him to me as tightly as I could, hoping that maybe if I did, I could become him or at least part of him.

That way, I could have my freedom. I could be respected, noticed, seen as an actual human, not some "thing" for satisfying a man's sexual desire.

I wanted love.

I looked up at him, flushed, and noticed he had the look of a ripe tomato. His breath was heavy and warm against my neck.

"I want you," I heard him whisper under his breath.

Then I looked into his eyes. They were ablaze, like burning coal in his head, making me feel uncomfortably warm inside.

"No," I said, hatred present on my face.

"You left me. You can't come back like everything is okay," I spoke my words like I was spitting venom.

"So now, Lea—"

Before I could finish, I felt his lips on mine, softly and so delicately. Then his lips grew rough, his body hot with longing, his breath strained. I felt my anger burning me up.

I sunk my teeth into his lips and bit him. As he retracted, I felt the metallic taste of blood in my mouth, and I spat.

I looked at him and his bloody lips, expecting to see him angry.

Instead, he had a strange smile on his bloody lips.

He passed his fingers over his lips, coating them with blood. Looking at me, he leaned towards me, still not looking me in the eyes. He grabbed my hand and began writing on the back of it with his bloody fingers.

I began to feel a burning sensation, though mild, but he held my hand steadily.

Then he stopped, leaned over, and kissed the back of my hand.

He finally looked me in the eyes, but what I saw made me afraid.

"Now, you are mine and nobody else's," he said, a pleased glint in his new blood-red eyes.

I stayed frozen, afraid to even breathe, move, or do anything. Even moments after he left, I just sat there confused.

What was that? Why were his eyes so different? It gave me chills.

Looking at the footprints in the snow of a man I once knew, but now I wasn't so sure.

I looked at the back of my hand, where he had smeared his blood, where it had stung, and what I saw wasn't blood. Not even close.

It was wrong.

Or were my eyes playing tricks on me? I thought.

Because long gone were any traces of blood. My skin was not smeared or marked with even the slightest hint of red.

No, it was beautiful.

The blue-rose-like color, the delicate look of each petal seemingly painted into place, a single lovely blue lily marked my skin, almost glowing against my pale skin.

I almost wondered if I had lost it. Obviously, it had been blood he smeared, right?

I knew there was something more. Almost magical, I thought.

But I shook my head. I wasn't a kid anymore who would believe in fairy tales. They were never real.

And truly, I was right. Fairy tales didn't exist.

But horror did.

The littlest horror tales, I wish I actually knew how to run when I had the chance.
