"Why? Why did Indra and Asura seal away that bastard Sage of Six Paths?" Kaguya asked excitedly, her eyes brimming with genuine enthusiasm.
Fate always comes full circle…
Heaven shows mercy to no one!
Sage of Six Paths, you traitorous child—you've finally gotten what you deserve!
At this moment, Kaguya completely forgot about her awkward position—tightly bound and suspended in the air. All she wanted was to know the answer to her burning question.
The look she gave Kazuki was even filled with… a plea.
Kaguya was far too eager to hear the juicy details—she really wanted to know how the Sage of Six Paths had ended up being sealed by his own sons!
"Are you seriously asking me that just to provoke a reaction?"
Kazuki gave Kaguya a helpless glance, then shook his head and said: "I get it now. You're testing whether I know the truth about the crimes you've committed, aren't you?"
"Still struggling... fine then. Let me shatter that last shred of hope."
Kazuki's tone grew cold: "Sage of Six Paths... You founded the Shinobi Sect, claiming that mutual understanding was the key to peace. Yet behind the scenes, you watched as the shinobi world descended into endless conflict—and even secretly incited wars."
"Every time the ninja world approached unity through war, you made sure to fracture it again... You treated the shinobi world like a livestock farm. After one culling, you allowed the population to rebound, only to butcher them again."
"And all the while, you wore that sanctimonious mask, letting the world revere you as its savior and the so-called Sage of Six Paths."
"The countless shinobi who died in these wars—one batch after another—were all absorbed by your so-called Pure Land, feeding your power so you could eventually control the Ten Tails sealed within you..."
Kaguya listened, wide-eyed, stunned by Kazuki's story.
This little traitor really was capable of something, huh?
Of course!
If he turned the entire population of the shinobi world into White Zetsu in one go, there'd be no future stock left!
But the Sage of Six Paths? Killing them off in waves—that was sustainable. He'd turned the shinobi world into a self-replenishing perpetual energy machine.
And yet…
As Kaguya recalled how, back then, the Sage had looked her in the eyes and preached, "Peace must come from mutual understanding,"
a chill ran down her spine.
What a hypocritical brat. He even had the nerve to deceive his own mother!
He had sealed her away in the name of peace and understanding, then sold the same lie to the shinobi world—all while harvesting their souls to help control the Ten Tails he'd taken from her.
Well done, Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo!
"To think… that the son I created from a spell would grow into someone with the same ruthless nature as the main family elites!"
Kaguya muttered to herself in disbelief: "No wonder… my weaker branch line couldn't defeat you…"
She was horrified to realize—
The Sage of Six Paths was even more of a true Ōtsutsuki than she was!
Unflinching, heartless, merciless—willing to do whatever it took for power, even against family or allies. That mindset wasn't just typical for the Ōtsutsuki—it was one of the most extreme examples of it…
"Thankfully, our ancestors Indra and Asura saw through your vile actions. Even though you were their father, for the sake of the shinobi world, they resolutely sealed you in the Pure Land and extracted the Ten Tails from your body—splitting it into nine parts!"
"And after reading the traps you left behind, I feared you might've laid other schemes across the world. So I struck first—using the chakra of the Nine Tailed Beasts to summon you back and seal you again, this time deep beneath the ocean."
"Now that your seal has been relocated, your backup plans are completely invalidated."
Arms crossed, Kazuki glared coldly at Kaguya: "You cold-blooded butcher—you even murdered your own mother for power!"
"A man like you, devoid of loyalty, filial piety, compassion, or righteousness, deserves to suffer eternal torment in hell. While I may not be able to carry out your punishment, I do have the will and determination to keep you sealed here forever!"
Kazuki's words landed like thunder.
But to his surprise—Kaguya smiled.
She gazed at Kazuki, watching his righteous fury toward the Sage of Six Paths with deep satisfaction. It was like music to her ears.
Well said!
So cathartic!
"No need to keep up the act, Sage of Six Paths. Even if you're using a female body now, for a being like you, this is just a higher form of transformation. Surely gender can't constrain someone like you?"
Kazuki looked utterly unimpressed with the way Kaguya was staring at him, wide-eyed and sparkly like a fangirl.
And to be fair—he wasn't wrong.
Once someone had fully mastered Yin-Yang Release, even life itself could be created at will. Changing appearance was trivial.
Let alone someone at the Sage's level—
Even someone like Orochimaru, merely Kage-tier, had already long since rendered gender meaningless. He'd gone back and forth between 'Uncle Snake' and 'Aunt Snake' plenty of times.
Kaguya wasn't angry at Kazuki's coldness—instead, she was focused on figuring out how to explain things to him...
By this point, all the curiosity and exploration traps Kazuki had set were already in full effect.
"There is a connection between me and the Sage of Six Paths..."
After a moment of thought, Kaguya met Kazuki's cold gaze and forced herself to speak in an earnest tone: "I'm that traitor's mother... Back then, it was he who stole the Ten Tails from me and sealed me away."
Kazuki obligingly furrowed his brow.
Seeing his reaction gave Kaguya a boost of confidence, and her words began to flow more smoothly: "The reason the Sage of Six Paths needed to absorb souls in order to suppress the Ten Tails and create the Pure Land... was because it was my power he was fighting against!"
"He didn't kill me. He sealed me inside the moon..."
"And the reason you were able to summon me was because the Ten Tails had never been fully under his control. The tailed beasts that Indra and Asura split from it still have a stronger connection to me…"
"So in a sense... you accidentally saved me."
Seeing Kazuki's expression continue to shift, Kaguya hurried to add, "After I broke free, you sensed the three chakra sources chasing me, didn't you? I gave you some of my power at that time..."
Kazuki nodded solemnly.
"Those three were… the one you call the Sage of Six Paths, my eldest son Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo, and my younger son, Ōtsutsuki Hamura."
"And one more: a man from beyond the stars—Ōtsutsuki Isshiki. He's a demon from our clan. I fought him to save the shinobi world but fell into a weakened state. That's when those two traitors ambushed me and sealed me away!"
As Kazuki continued responding with perfectly timed expressions, even the usually inarticulate Kaguya managed to tell her story…
Stumbling a bit—
But mostly coherent. All in all, she managed to paint herself as a noble savior goddess.
Kazuki fell into thought, then looked up at her and said: "But… Ancestor Indra never mentioned you. He told me the Sage of Six Paths had killed his own grandmother…"
When Kaguya saw Kazuki's lovely face—and the remnants of Indra's ocular power in his eyes—tears welled up in hers.
Indra... and the boy he now resided in... were wonderful.
Hearing Kazuki recount the tale of Indra sealing the Sage of Six Paths filled her with a cathartic sense of vengeance fulfilled. Her affection for Kazuki skyrocketed.
"You... you don't understand. Indra was still just a child back then—he didn't know anything yet!"
Kaguya finally broke down into genuine tears, her voice trembling as she tried to explain: "After he grew up and saw that I'd disappeared, he must've thought that bastard Hagoromo killed me!"
This time, there was no acting—only raw emotion.
Kaguya sobbed uncontrollably, while Kazuki, seemingly caught off guard, didn't know what to do.
After a brief pause, he sighed, gathering chakra at his fingertip and gently wiping away her tears.
Kaguya accepted it readily, allowing him to dab her eyes—though her crying only grew louder.
At last—
After being betrayed by the Sage of Six Paths, Kaguya finally experienced what it felt like to be remembered and cared for... through Kazuki.
She had split off two sons in the first place because she longed for companionship—someone to stand with her against the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
But tragically, neither the Sage nor Hamura had ever shared her heart.
Fortunately, Indra had not forgotten her.
And now, a thousand years later, Kazuki hadn't either—and had even avenged her.
