When he finished his things, the first thing he did was to visit the dwarven Slayer, Gotrik Gurnisson, who was dwelling within the Royal Dragon Inn at the center of the Old Volantis, which was a pretty luxurious inn.
After talking with the dwarven Slayer, Valkorion came to the agreement that they would be leaving in two days, as he needed to wait for Melisandre because the red witch was still away and didn't appear.
When he came into the agreement with the Slayer Gotrik Gurnisson, he returned to the carriage wagon, where he was surprised to see the red priestess, who had returned after several days of being out, which was rather surprising.
He looked at the woman for some time, yet the red priestess looked alright and didn't say a word about her matters, and Valkorion didn't really care that much to press her about the topic for the time being.
As long as she was okay and wasn't pursued by the members of the Church of the Dragon Gods, Valkorion couldn't really care about her matters, actually, that much.
"You were gone for several days. It seems that you weren't just boasting when you told me that you survived even in the city filled with the worshippers of the Church of the Dragon Gods."
When he saw the Red Priestess return, he was somewhat surprised that she returned alright because the Volantis was literally swarming with the worshippers of the Church of the Dragon Gods.
"I told you that I won't get lost in this place."
The priestess of the Lord of Light stated, as they entered the carriage wagon, noticing that their coachman wasn't around. When they arrived at the Volanits, Valkorion gave him several Gold Dragon Coins to find an inn and remain there until they were needed.
He was rather generous with the amount of the Gold Dragon Coins, so he could have the entire carriage wagon for himself and not be disrupted. Not to mention this was also a bit part of the contract when he hired the service.
"This city is literally swarming with the Chruch of the Dragon Gods... I already want to leave this place behind."
Due to the Valkorion's affiliation with the Astral and Lord of Light, he was feeling very uncomfortable in the presence of the worshippers of the Five-Headed Dragon God, and the entire Church of the Dragon Gods was making him very uneasy.
"There is indeed a much higher concentration of the Clergy of the Usurper God than before. There must be something going on for sure, but what is going on, that is unknown even to me."
Mellisandre agreed with his sentiment, and he thought that she was up to something when she noticed that something was going on in this place, because it really seemed that something was happening within the Volantis.
Even the locals he talked with told him that there were far more of the members of the clergy from the Church of the Dragon Gods in the Volantis than usual. It really seemed that the crooks from the Church were up to something.
Nothing good, for sure, was running through his mind.
Nevertheless, he would be out in a few days, so it wasn't his matter.
"We should lay low for the next following days just to be sure. Also, I managed to get a rather suitable helper in our quest in the Undead Asylum Catacombs in the Orange Shore."
Valkorion stated as they sat down to talk for a bit before going to sleep, because it was already night out there.
"If you mean that dwarven Slayer from the Slayer Cult, then it would certainly be a very good addition to our duo."
As she said that he wasn't even surprised that she knew, he immediately concluded that she must have watched their fight within the Grand Volantene Arena, so it wasn't that hard to guess what her source of information was.
Not to mention, he spent a lot of time in the local inn with the dwarf, drinking because the dwarves were heavy drinkers, and Gotrik insisted on a good drink.
"The members of the Slayer Cult are always a good addition to any adventure, and due to the particular nature of the Slayer Cult, they really don't care about the person whom they were working for. Of course, unless the people are not members or connected to the Evil Secret Organizations or something that would be threatening the stability of the world..."
The Slayer Cult was a pretty neutral organization, and they didn't really get interested in the struggle of the outside world. The only time they interfered was when something threatened the balance of the world, if we could even call it that way.
Normally, the Slayer Cult members weren't really opposed to working with almost anyone else, and as long as they were not worshipping the Evil Gods or some other questionable entities, the Slayer Cult wouldn't really care with whom they were working.
"Yes, I am too rather satisfied with the result. Having someone on the Slayer level would be good. Not to mention, the Slayer Gotrik Gurnisson was rather eager when he heard that we would be going to the place filled with the Undeads."
Indeed, the dwarven Slayer was too eager to fight against the Undeads, that was for sure; even Melisandre was pleased by the achievement of her companion. It also didn't escape her the fact that the man managed to reach the Sequence 6 Beast Knight during the time she was away.
Even though she knew that he was on the Pathway of the Warrior, which was the most peculiar Pathway with the hidden surprises awaiting for the people.
Not to mention, it was the Pathway that had the high rate of people voluntarily switching to another Pathway or remaining at the Sequence 6 Beast Knight for the rest of their lives, and searching to gain power in a different way.
It was clear that a man obsessed with power like Valkorion wouldn't be really giving up, and he was especially compatible with the Warrior Pathway. That was clear to her from just observing the man; even though he had just advanced to the Seuqnece 6 just now, she sensed that he was even more powerful than she was.
She even observed his fight against the Slayer in the Grand Volantene Arena and was rather surprised by his power and mastery over the martial arts. She knew that he was someone very talented when it came to the fighting and the way of the sword.
"We would be leaving for the Orange Shore in two days... I still need to finish some adjustments to my training, as you have already noticed by the intensity of your gaze on my person."
Valkorion said as he knew that she must have noticed that he reached Sequence 6; it wasn't that surprising. She was far more apt and sharp, too much for her own good. She always noticed everything, even things that she shouldn't...
"It doesn't matter if we are in two day more in this place. Everything shall be going according to the will of the Lord."
