The news that the Stellar Empire's crown prince had ordered the army to prepare for an immediate attack on the Serpent Empire couldn't be kept secret.
Only half a day later, the Serpent Empire had already received solid intelligence.
General Sost quickly summoned High Priest Kent and Zara.
"I've just received very reliable information," Sost said in a grave tone. "The Stellar Empire's assault is about to begin. We have no more than a day or two left to prepare."
Both Kent and Zara's faces tightened with concern. But the truth was, they had already done everything they could.
"You should have finished your tasks by now, correct?" Sost asked seriously.
Kent and Zara nodded at the same time.
"The defenses around Withered Tree Fortress are complete. The Stellar Empire will have to break through the front wall of the fortress before they can even touch the surrounding defenses. There's no way they can surround the stronghold," Zara said quickly.
