Chapter 626 - Chapter 624: Theft.

"What kind of work do you think you could do for me? Or what are you interested in?"

Hearing Barron's question, Lamy looked up at him, hesitated, and said,

"I'm very interested in numbers. Well, stocks, that is. I can use this to help you make money, Your Highness."

  "Stocks?"

  "Yes..."

Lamy's eyes gleamed, and his tone grew more confident.

"Actually, I tried it on the school computers and I don't think it's difficult."

"You tried it? Where would you get the money? Besides, you're not old enough to trade stocks yet, you can't even open an account."

Although Barron did provide some pocket money for the children he sponsored, it wasn't much—at least for stock trading. After all, their food, clothing, housing, and transportation were all provided by dedicated staff.

Furthermore, the law stipulates that only adults can open accounts for stock investment, and Lamy doesn't meet the requirements, either in terms of age or social status.

"I'm trading stocks on a virtual platform, Your Highness, but I think through my calculations, I can identify some patterns and maintain profitability."

"Really? Could you show me your trading records?"

  "With great pleasure, Your Highness."

After turning on his computer and logging into his virtual stock account—a virtual account that, aside from using virtual money, displays all stock trends and trading data that mirrors the real stock market—Baron discovered that, just as Rami had said, he had been trading stocks six months ago. With an initial virtual capital of 50,000 pounds, his account's total assets now total over 1 million pounds. In other words, in just six months, he'd increased his assets more than 20-fold!

"Have you studied the economic situation? How can you be so sure that the stocks you selected will fall?"

Baron could see that almost 75% of Rami's profits were earned through short selling—a trend consistent with the broader stock market over the past six months.

"I haven't done any special research. I simply analyzed the trading volume and other data to come up with this..."

Okay, it seems Rami does have a natural talent for this.

"Why are you interested in this?"

"Because, because I want to make money."

  "Are you short on cash?"

  "No..."

Rami lowered his head slightly, looking at his clenched fingers.

"Because I want to repay you, and also, I want to give my sister a better life..."

"But I'm already rich enough, Rami. I don't want you to become a money-making machine, or rather, I don't want you to make money the meaning of your life. Perhaps you don't understand this yet, but I believe that only by continuing to learn can you one day understand what I'm saying today."

"Thank you, Your Highness. I will continue to learn, but actually, my stock trading doesn't take up much time, and I just use it as a way to relax after studying..."

  Uh, okay.

Whether in his past life or this, Barron could be considered a relatively intelligent person, but he was far from a genius. His current wealth and fortune were largely due to the memories and experience of his past life. Therefore,   Baron couldn't possibly understand

the world of a genius like Rami .   After all, he himself had no experience as a "genius"...   "But there's a difference in mentality between virtual trading and real trading..."   Baron said to Rami with a smile.   "Since you're interested in this, Rami, I can provide you with a stock account and a certain amount of funds. If you can achieve satisfactory results within a year, I'll agree to let you work for me..."

"Okay, Your Highness, I'll do my best."

  "No..."

Barron shook his head and said,

"Stock investment isn't about hard work; it requires a calm mindset. Beyond that, I hope you maintain your academic performance. I'll help you get into Cambridge University. You can choose your preferred major and receive adequate mentorship. Not everyone has that luxury. Between earning £100 million and becoming a capable decision-maker, I prefer the latter, Rami."

Just as Barron had promised Rami, the boy would later receive a stock account with an initial capital of £50,000—just like he'd initially invested in the virtual stock market.

Barron would then judge him based on his subsequent performance.

But since he was a genius, Barron's words were true. Rather than helping him earn £100 million, Barron preferred Rami to become someone capable of entering his inner circle of decision-makers.

  "

Don't worry, I'll send someone to strengthen your protection..."

Barron said to the woman before him, a look of worry on her face.

"And you'd better find a new place to live immediately. I can't provide that, but I'll send someone to check on you later."

"Okay, the police haven't given me any useful information yet..."

"Are you sure there's nothing particularly valuable in the stolen items besides property?"

"No, because I wouldn't leave anything else with me."

Hearing Joe Harriman's words, Barron looked at her deeply, hoping she was telling the truth. Otherwise, he'd be disappointed.

The incident happened last night. Joe Harriman, a member of the London City Council, was visiting Australia. Upon returning home, he discovered that her home had been burglarized.

Joe Harriman immediately called the police and informed Barron.

According to the woman, she had lost some valuables, including jewelry and cash. The London police's investigation of the scene also indicated that it was a common burglary.

In May of this year, Jo Harriman was elected to the London City Council. Since then, she has resigned from her ITV presenting role to participate in various council functions.

She has also received support from the Conservative Party, becoming a key figure in their "new generation" initiative. Next year, three seats in the House of Commons will be up for by-election, and Jo Harriman will contest one of them.

  Meanwhile, her home was burglarized,

  which made Barron cautious.

He needed to determine whether, in addition to the stolen property Jo Harriman claimed, something more significant had been lost, something potentially linked to other matters.

Since Jo Harriman insisted, Barron had no choice but to believe her for now. Of course, he would investigate further, but if she failed him, he would give up on her.

He hoped Jo Harriman was wise.

Similarly, at this point, Jo Harriman had no choice but to believe Barron. As for whether Barron's request to inspect her new home was merely an inspection,

she could only believe what he said.

Barron left Joe Harriman in the villa that night, but she needed to move out quickly, which made it inconvenient for Barron to provide her with a place to stay. On the surface, Barron would not have any connection with Joe Harriman.

But later, he would also strengthen his protection for her.
